“So I think we should expand our territories to the South,” Lucas, my Beta, says as he places the files on the table with a loud thud. “The South has more resources than the North, and it’s a better idea”
I roll my eyes, using my leg to flick the papers onto the floor. With a deep sigh, I close my eyes again and go back to my nap.
“Alpha, you need to focus on this! It’s important Lucas snaps, hurriedly gathering the scattered papers. I ignore him, leaning hack with behind my head, letting out an exaggerated snore as if I’m lounging on a tropical beach

Lucas shoots me an exasperated look, but I don’t even flinch. “You know, if I wanted to hear about resources and territories, I’d have become a historian, not an Alpha 1 mutter, will half–asleep.
Lucas pauses for a moment, clearly trying to process my response, then sighs and uns down, “Great. Now I’m making decisions for two, and one of them is sleeping.”
I smirk, not bothering to reply. Lucas is such a workaholic that sometimes I wonder how my sister, Martha–who also happens to be his mate manages to cope with him. Honestly, I wouldn’t be surprised if their pillow talk consisted of territorial expansion strategies and resource allocation
I snicker at the mental image. I bet when he gets home, he leans over all serious and whispers, “The South has untapped potential, love.” Meanwhile, Martha’s probably lying there, contemplating whether it’s worth pretending to nare just to get him to shut up
“You know, Alpha,” Lucas starts, and I’m about to fake a loud snore to ignore him, but his next words snap my eyes open, and I sit up straight. almost mumbling the chair behind me.

“you heard me. Alpha” Lucas says, trying not to snicker, but I catch the Eains smirk on his face. “Alpha Lucian is expanding his territories to the South, and he has greater resources than us
My eyes practically shoot open at Lucas’s words. Before my brain can even process it, any hands dart out, and I start flipping through the pages of the documents in front of me. “What were you saying about the resources from the South again?”
Lucas scoffs, about to say something else, but I mise my hand, stopping him. My expression hardens, and my eyes narrow as I catch a faint scent. What is that scent)
My thoughts are interrupted when a message suddenly comes through the mindlink, “Alpha, intruders are heading toward the pack b

I frown, and Lucas and exchange a quick glance before we stand and head toward the woods. The sound of our feet crunching against twigs and branches echoes in my cars. As we nun, our figures blur, moving swiftly through the dense forest. –
“Those goddamn Moonfang pack must have crossed our boundaries again,” Laras growls, his tone dripping with hatred. I frown, the feeling is mutal, and this time, I will not let any one of them leave alive.
“Damini,” my wolf, Cairos, suddenly speaks up in my mind, his voice eager and almost ecstatic. “She’s here. Our imate is here. I can smell her scent
1 freeze instantly, my boow arching. “You’re sure of this!”
“Yes, Damben. She’s near. Let’s go to our mate!” Cairns’s voice is practically vibrating with excitement, and if his tail wagging in the back of my mind. isn’t proof, I don’t know what is.

wrong Alpha?” Lucas asks,
“Nothing” I reply, shaking my head. “Let’s keep moving.”
Five minutes later, we arrive at the pack’s boundary. Felix, my Gamura, and the guards behind him bow their heads as soon as they see is
“There they are, Alpha. They appear to be capturing a criminal who fled their pack,” Felix informs me as I observe from a distance. I can’t make out much, but from this close, the overwhelming scent grows even stronger.
Could it really be her? Is my mate here?
“Let’s go. I can’t take it anymore. There’s an urge I can’t fight, pulling me toward the source of the scent.
When we arrive at the scene, my world seems to freeze. My eyes lock on her–lying on the ground, a trup caught on her leg as she pleads with the

nun standing over her. Elijah. My rival’s Beta.
“How dare he touch her?!” Cairos and I growl in unison. My eyes glow silver as rage surges through me. I stride toward Elgal and send him flying far from her with a single flick of my hand. A guttural growl rips from my throat as I fight the urge to tear him apart.
I stand before her, protective and unyielding, my eyes narrowing dangerously
“Hands Off Her,” 1 wa
warm, my voice low and lethal
“Alpha Damien, this has nothing to do with you,” Elijah says, his tone sharp, “She’s from the Moonfang pack. Do not get involved
he’s a criminal, Alplus Damien,” he continues, straightening himself. “Step back. This is none of your concern”
1 glare at him, imbothered by his word. “I don’t care if she’s from your pack. I will get involved”
A criminal” I couldn’t care less. No one touches my mate.
“It’s Alpha Lucian’s order for her to be brought back.” He growls and internally roll my eyes at his words. As if that changes anything.
“Is that so?” I smirk, sliding my hands into my pockets “Well, here’s something for you to rare about—she’s my mate.”

The words hang heavy in the air, leaving everyone stunned. Without another glance at Elijah, I spin around and scoop her unconscious body
I hear Elijah move, ready to stop me, but Lucas and my guards step forward, blocking his path. They stand tall, their po
postures protective, as I smirk, savoring the futility of his efforts. The flicker of fear in his expression catches my eye, and I fight the urge to laugh as something clicks in my brain.
It seems this girl is more important to Lucian than I thought–especially if Elijah is willing to risk everything for her
Well, well. This is getting interesting.
