Leo took my hand as he said to me, “Sophia, every relationship has its purpose.”

I couldn’t help but sigh as I held his cheek that was slapped by Marion earlier and gently said, “I’m sorry. This is all my fault. I hurt you.”
Leo stopped me from blaming myself by telling me, “Don’t put this on yourself. If anyone’s to blame, it’s that lunatic, Marion.”
I couldn’t help but chuckle before sighing and responding, “Leo, I don’t think I can accept a new relationship so soon…”
Leo let out a gentle laugh, her voice was as soothing as a flowing spring.
“That’s okay. I’ll wait for you, no matter how long it takes.”
“Let me stay by your side… even if it’s just as a friend. Do you know that you look gorgeous when you work?” The next morning, I was surprised to see Neil waiting outside my company. he was carefully dressed, as beautiful as ever, yet there was an indescribable hesitation and vulnerability in her stance as he stood in the corridor.
When he saw me, her eyes lit up.

I asked calmly, “How did you know I was here?”
Neil looked a little embarrassed, but he then stretched out his hand that held a business card.

This man was my former husband, but what happened between us made us strangers. Not to mention, it would make everything complicated if someone found out about me meeting Neil. The thought of Leo knowing this made me uncomfortable.
Without further ado, I told Neil, “Let’s go to a nearby café first. My employees will be at work soon and it wouldn’t be good for them to see this.”
In the café, Neil kept looking at me, barely sipping his coffee until it had gone cold.

I put down my coffee cup and said lightly, “It’s too late, Neil.”

Neil looked at me eagerly as he responded to me exasperatedly, “Who dares to laugh at you? I’ll deal with them! I can give you half of my shares! I can buy you a necklace worth 20 billion! Whatever you want, I’m willing to do it!”

Neil was stunned into silence for a long time.
In the end, he lowered his head dejectedly with his shoulders shaking.

Drops of tears then fell onto the table. Nevertheless, he got up and left. This was the end of us.
Not long after, I saw on the news that Marion had been arrested for intentionally injuring me and Leo. The
woman was sentenced to three years in prison. Since the Dupont and Frank families were afraid that the scandal
