“As long as you’re willing to forgive me, I’ll do anything for you. Whether you want to open a construction company or build an art museum, I won’t stop you anymore.”
Seeing that no one paid attention to her, Marion snapped and shouted angrily at Neil.
“Neil, why are you treating me like this? Didn’t you love chasing after me before? Don’t you love me anymore?”
“On the day James and I got married, you cried all night. After I got pregnant, you even built a shopping mall for me. Have you forgotten everything you did for me?”
“Can’t you see that Sophia has already fallen in love with someone else?”

Although I Dedicated Half of My Life for You, You Betrayed Me!
Leo interjected at the right moment, telling them firmly, “Please stop causing a scene and don’t disturb Miss
Harris‘ life in the future.”
Neil turned to Leo with hostility as the former asked the latter, “Who are you? What does this have to do with
you?”
Then, he turned back to me, asking me gently, “Sophia, I know you still care about me, right?”
Neil then continued, “You’re just using him to make me jealous, aren’t you?”
“You can hit me or scold me … just as long as you forgive me.”
Suddenly, as if remembering something, Neil anxiously explained, “Oh, I remember… that blueprint! The one you mentioned! Marion bribed the nanny to steal it!”
“Sophia, I swear to God! I never gave her your blueprint! Please, believe me!”
My heart felt bitter, but my tone remained calm as I told him, “Neil, from the beginning, you only treated me as a
tool. Our marriage, from start to finish, was just a mistake.”
The man shook his head and looked at me firmly. The next moment, he knelt before me.
“No, Sophia, I was just deceived by Marion. I refused to accept the truth. I was so foolish that I thought I loved
her.”
“When I heard you were in trouble, my heart nearly stopped. I wanted to die with you. Sophia, I really love you!”
In the meantime, Leo gestured to the security personnel. Soon enough, several burly men walked toward us. However, something even more shocking happened.
Seeing that no one paid her any attention, Marion suddenly pulled out a switchblade from her pocket like a mad beast and lunged at me.
“Sophia, since you like playing pretend to die, then I’ll make it into reality! So just go and die!”
In a flash, Leo stepped in front of me and raised his arm to block Marion’s attack. The sharp tip of the knife
pierced his skin. Blood flowed instantly. Those security guards quickly pinned Marion to the ground.
With her face pressed against the floor, she suddenly let out a crazed laugh.
The woman then shouted, “Sophia, you son of a bitch! Hahaha! You’ll get what’s coming to you sooner or later!”
I immediately helped Leo to stand up as I shouted in panic, “Leo! Leo! Are you okay?”
Behind me, Neil stared blankly at my retreating figure, opening his mouth but unable to say a word. I quickly brought Leo to the hospital, ignoring anything that happened around me. What I had in mind was that I just wanted
to make sure that Leo was safe.
At the hospital, I watched as the doctor treated Leo’s wound.
Alex paced anxiously.
“Uncle, I was busy at the museum just now. How did you get hurt? Gosh, how am I supposed to explain this to my
dad?”
Leo shot her a look, which Alex immediately caught on. My employee’s eyes darted around before she quickly said, “Uh, well… I’ll go pay the bill first!”
With that, she hurried out.
I turned to Leo with an apologetic expression as I told him, “I’m sorry, Leo. I got you hurt.”
Leo smiled calmly, responding, “Actually, I’m glad I was the one who got hurt.”
I looked at him, my emotions tangled.
“Leo, you must have heard what Marion and the others said earlier.”
“There are a lot of things in my past that are hard to bear.”
“I moved here because my marriage with Neil had failed.”
