Alex gritted his teeth in rage as he saw Damien, his older brother from his father’s first wife standing there looking at him with disdain. For now he could just swallow the insult as Damien looked at his folly
“What? What did you just say?” Alex’s grandfather asked coldly, his face red with anger.
“It was a mistake… I will apologize to Elena.”
“Apologize? Are you even in your senses you stupid brat?! You ruined Elena’s life and brought this shameless woman into our household!” The old man had a headache when he saw the cheating couple.
“Are you going to marry, this girl?” Jessica was startled when the old man asked straightforwardly, her eyes widening when Alex reluctantly nodded after a long pause.
“You think an heir will fix the damage you’ve caused?”
“In the end it is my child… I cannot let them be.” Alex stated making the atmosphere cold.
The old man’s voice grew low and stern. “Sign this then.” Alex saw the file and his entire world came crashing down.
“How can you…no..are you throwing me out of the family? I am the heir of Giovanni family!”
“A heir? You don’t deserve to be a part, let alone the heir!”
Jessica clutched Alex’s sleeves, tears falling down. “No! No. We can still be a family grandfather! Think about your grandchild in my belly!”
The grandfather’s eyes were like ice. “Don’t you dare me call your grandfather!”
And you? A part of this family? Never until I am alive! Your child can earn his way into the family fairly but you and your husband to be never will!”
Alex clenched his fists, his voice breaking. “I didn’t want this. This is not my fault! Elena never told me the truth! If only she had not hidden the truth then I wouldn’t have treated her
like this-”
“If you dare speak another word about Elena, I will forget that grandfather has prohibited us brothers to spill blood between us.“Alex froze when a slow cruel smile graced Tyler’s handsome features.
“Elena is not someone whom a disgusting bastard like you could have either ways. This fake is better suited for you who is another fake illegitimate child.” With bloodshot eyes glaring at the people present Alex signed the document forfeiting all his rights as a Giovanni family member.
He was expelled from the family.

Entering the magnanimous glass–walled office of Maxim Enterprises I broke into nervous jitters. Although Damien tried to send me on a small vacation after knowing I was pregnant, I still refused.
Damien had recently appointed me as his secretary, a role I was still adjusting to when I
started receiving calls from my biological parents urging me to come back.
For me the only family that was left for me were my children and grandma.
Pushing open the cabin’s door, I swiftly entered the cubicle and quickly sorted the files, knowing that the delegates could be pouring in any moment now.
“Elena.” the musky scent of pine wafted through my senses as Damien hurried inside the bustling conference room, his arm gently grasping mine to bring me to the balcony as if he wished to hide me away from the prying eyes.
“Sir.”
“Elena, no one can force you to do anything that you dislike, just say the word… ” Damien looked concerned, making me smile sadly.
“At today’s meeting your father and biological brothers would be present as well and they dared to specifically ask you to give a presentation. I swear those people are doing this purposefully to torment you!”
The man in his sharp suit and commanding presence calmed me down to some extent when both his arms held me gently, almost embracing me.
“Damien I am not a Giovanni anymore, you cannot give me special treatment all the time, people have already started creating rumors about us. Also, I am tired of running away all the time. No matter how much they want me back, I will not be returning to them anymore.”
“Elena…just know that I will support you no matter what.”
Soon the meeting began with prying stares burning a hole at my back, when I refused to acknowledge their presence my biological brothers hurled cruel taunts.
“That marriage was doomed from the very beginning.” Leonard whispered mockingly. “How can a country bumpkin compete with our sister Jessica for Alex?”
