“No, I did everything for you! For our family! You don’t know the real truth!” Jessica clenched her fists lying.
“What do you mean?” My father growled, his patience worn thin.
Jessica trembled, tears streaming down her face. “Dad, I saw Elena being intimate with another man before she was going to marry Alex.” she said, her voice trembling. “I… I saw her with Damien Giovanni and she looked happier than when she was with Alex.”
Leonard’s jaw tightened while Victor’s face paled as he remembered something. “Do you think we are stupid to believe in your lies-”
“Brother what if Jessica is not lying… Don’t you remember that day when Damien left the entire conference for Elena. I followed him and saw him taking care of her, at that time their relationship looked ambiguous.”
My father hesitated.“Jessica, are you telling the truth?”
“Yes father, why would I lie to you?! My sister even met Damien after the divorce, those twins… I am not sure if Alex is their father! I have evidence of this!”
At this moment Jessica could only use her trump card- a secret that she had never thought she would reveal..
“Damian Giovanni has feelings for Elena!” Quickly getting inside her room she brought out an old box filled with colorful letters that were trending when I was in college.
These are all the love letters Damien wrote Elena when we were young.” not believing Jessica at all, my father picked up a letter upon reading which his expression became
serious..
“This…this is indeed Damien Giovanni’s handwriting… but how is this possible?”
“How did you find them?” Jessica’s face paled for a moment before she collected herself.
“I found these love letters in Elena’s box. She kept them even after marrying Alex.
I–I think that after her car accident three years ago, sister thought she was barren and thus was ready to marry Alex who was sick b–but during her secret meetings with Damien she became pregnant with his twins and left Alex.”
“To think that Elena was cheating on Alex and played this drama to divorce him and go back to her old lover! We almost got cheated by that female.” Victor spat.
“We’ll handle it,” Leonard said firmly. “The scandal won’t last. And as for the babies…If what you said is true then they are dirty seeds of an affair and Alex will come back to you.”
It was almost midnight when Alex received uninvited guests at his house. At first he thought that Jessica was there to pick her belongings but soon the twin Dawson brothers also followed.
“Get the fuck out before I kill you bastard!”

Victor stood casually against the doorframe. “Alex, we have been your friends since childhood. Are you doing this because your precious ex–wife, our sister Elena, is pregnant?”
Alex’s fists clenched at his sides. “Shut the hell up!”
“Just like us you also fell for such a trap. Look at this.” the entire box of letters was turned upside down upon reading which Alex could not believe his eyes.
“You can hire a detective to confirm this, your wife has been cheating on you for a long time.”
“It’s such a shame that you gave up on Jessica and the support of our Dawson family through your marriage. Don’t forget that you are no longer a part of Giovanni’s family.” Leonard said. “We saw Elena with another man recently, your brother Damien.”
The twins for whom you are leaving Jessica and your child behind… Are you sure they are yours?”
Victor unlocked this phone to display the pictures he had secretly taken of me and Damien in the washroom with him caressing my back and later carrying me in his arms out of the office.
A small video was also taken where I and Damien stood close together.
‘You are the woman I would fight the world for, do you really think this petty matter has any effect on me?‘ Damian’s words echoed from the video making Alex’s complexion darkened instantly upon hearing that.
“Believe it or not Alex, you have been betrayed by Elena. Those two children are not yours but Damien’s-”
“Shutup!” Alex’s rage knew no bounds at that as he attacked Victor with his fist smashing right into his face.
“Alex!” Jessica cried moving far away from the fight.
“Alex my brothers are not lying! Please listen to us. Let’s get through this marriage.”
“NO! Elena can never do that to me! She fucking loves me.”
With that Jessica and her brothers were thrown out of the house yet Alex was reminded of the time when Damien picked up my phone, all night he drank staring across the room in numbness.
It was almost dawn when Alex called Jessica.
“Help me out in finding the truth, if Elena is found to be the culprit I promise that I will marry you and even accept your child taking both of you in my family.”
