CEO Husband’s Betrayal: Finding Freedom with the Other Woman’s Help
On the anniversary of my mother’s passing, I waited for Gavin Carter at Willow Hills
Cemetery for five hours, only to receive a message that he was tied up with work.
On the way home, I encountered a runaway truck skidding uncontrollably in the rain.
From the twisted wreckage, I saw Gavin rushing through the crowd.
But he didn’t stop for me–he ran past me toward another car.
“Don’t be scared. I’m here,” he said as he pulled a young woman from the wreck. “You’re safe now. I’ve got you.”
He kissed her forehead like she was the most precious thing in the world, walking away without noticing I was trapped beneath the mangled remains of my car.

The searing pain in my leg felt unbearable.
The collision had thrown me against the glass, shards now embedded deep into my
thigh.
It wasn’t until the ambulance sirens blared that I was finally pulled from the wreckage.
“Don’t worry, we’ll save you!” The paramedics rushed toward me with urgency.
But the next moment, I heard Gavin’s sharp and commanding voice from close by.
“Where’s the doctor? Check her injuries now!
“Just a moment-
“Moment? If her treatment is delayed even one second, your whole hospital will pay the price!” he roared, grabbing a doctor by the collar.

stretcher carefully.
“Who does that guy think he is?” a bystander murmured. “Ignoring someone who’s seriously hurt!”
“Shh, that’s Gavin Carter–heir to Carter Industries. The woman in his arms must be someone important.”
“But she’s not even injured! Look at her, clinging to him while this one is covered in blood.”
“Well, not everyone gets a husband like that. Look at how he dotes on her–like all the rumors say.”
Even through the heavy rain, I could hear their voices crystal clear.
The pain clouded my thoughts, and I felt my consciousness slipping.
“Stay with us! We’ll get you into surgery soon!” The nurse’s hand was warm as she reassured me.
Moments later, the familiar ringtone of my phone buzzed faintly nearby.
It was silenced after just a few seconds.
Straining to keep my eyes open, I looked toward the sound.
There he was–my husband. Kneeling on the wet pavement, he held another woman’s hand over his heart.
I couldn’t see his face, but I didn’t need to. I could imagine concern, tenderness, and a depth of love I hadn’t felt in years.
Beside me, the nurse kept redialing. “What kind of husband shuts off his phone while his wife is dying?”
But he wasn’t absent. My husband was here.
He just couldn’t see me anymore.

Even in the same ambulance, he never noticed his critically injured wife just an arm’s
length away.
From my corner of the vehicle, the last thing I saw was Gavin cradling the woman in his arms, fussing over her like she was his world.
He didn’t hesitate to leave me behind in my most vulnerable moment. He even turned off his phone so that I couldn’t reach him.
We had been married for seven years. Seven years–and that moment cut through me like
a knife to my soul.
I realized then that it was time to let go.
