Chapter 46
Chapter 45- Seduer
I let out an irritated breath and stabbed the straw into the strawberry shake Londered. If not for the man sitting across from me catching it in time,
almost tipped over, spilling everywhere.
If that had happened, I would’ve soaked in a strawberry shake, which would have irritated me even more.
“Careful. You’re kind of clumsy, huh?”
I didn’t bother responding. He was irritating the hello
QUE of inc.
Two hours.
Two whole hours of driving just for this man to step out of the car, scan the site for five damn mindes, and then tell me he’s hungry and we should
I’m pretty sure this isn’t even the first time he’s seen the site. He probably visited it long before he bought the land.
And now, here we are, inside a fast–food diner. I’m exhausted, my legs are sore, and my patience is wearing thin.
It’s my job. I know, but I’d rather be cooped up inside his office than travel for nothing.
I glanced at Liam. He didn’t look exhausted at all. In fact, he was smiling as he scrolled through his phone, casually eating his burger like we hadn’t just wasted two hours for nothing-
I glared at him but quickly averted my gaze when our eyes met.
Tthere a problem, Mia?
Yes
“Nothing. Sir. I was just wondering if you only needed five minutes to see the place, why did we even have to come all the way here!”
–
He set his phone down and looked at me. “I needed to see it in person.”
“But you already bought that land, right? Surely, you’ve seen it before.
He shrugged. “I wanted to see it again.”
“For Eve minutes?”
He raised an eyebrow, clearly amused by how irritated I was. “Yes”
“I see,” was all I could say I grabbed a fry and shoved it into my
y mouth, chewing aggressively.
“Are you mad?
I smiled sarcastically. “No, Sir. Why would I be mad?”
He leaned forward, reaching for a fry and slowly shoving it into his mouth
Sexily
Sexily?
Where did that come from!
“You seem mad, though. Did I tire you?” He chewed the fry lazily, then licked his lips.
What is he doing?
Is be trying to seduce met
Liam Anderson seducing someone!
That sounded absurd and unbelievable. It had always been the other way around–women flocked to him, trying to seduce him

He was a challenge wornen wanted to take on a trophy to be wor
And right now, the proof of that surrounds us. Women sat at nearby tables, stealing glances at him when they thought he wasn’t looking. Some were bolder, their eyes trailing over him shamelessly, hoping he would notice. Others giggled among themselves, exchanging whispers while sneaking glances in his direction
Bun Liam He didn’t even spare them a glance. Instead, his full attention was on me.
He rested his hand on his chin, still staring at me, waiting for my answer.
“No, Sir. I’m fine. Apologies if you think that way,” I replied, smiling as I suddenly remembered my plan
Aplan as messy and unpredictable as one of Rylie’s drawings–scattered lines with no real direction, no clear endgame
But what was my plan, really
To make him go crazy
for me. To make him want me. 1 all away at the last second.
To make him think he was winning, he had me right w where he wanted–only for me to rip it
I would watch him fall, just like he had let Camilliana fall
would let h
him beg for me, let him believe I was within his grasp, only to cruelly remind him that my heart still belonged to my first love.
I wanted to see him suffer. I wanted him to feel the pain of longing for something he could never truly have.
The same pain he had once inflicted on Camilliana.
inside me
And yet as I sat across from him, watching him lick the salt from his lips as he lazily chewed his fries, a strange feeling twisted in
ass
Would I really be able to go through with it?
This was Liam Anderson we were talking about–a heartless and ruthless man. How could I do that?
Would it really be enough that I looked like his ex–wife?
His ex–wife, the woman he never even loved?
Maybe it was just guilt.
A monster feeling guilty how ironic.
“How are the twins?”
His voice broke through the silence, pulling me from my thoughts. I glanced at him, but his gaze was elsewhere–fixed on a couple outside, walking with their children, who looked about Rylie and Ryker’s age.
“Rylie’s excited to go back to school while Ryker keeps reminding her of all the things she shouldn’t do,” I said, a small smile tugging at my lips. This tine, it was genuine. Just thinking about them warmed my heart.
Liam nodded slighuly. “Guess he’s worried. It seems like he still has that trauma from watching Rylie’s allergy attack. When I found him at your house that day, he was clutching the home phone so tightly I assumed he was waiting for you to call”
My heart clenched at the thought of my son–small, scared, waiting for me. The image of him sitting there, gripping the phone as if his life depended on it, was enough to make my chest ache.
“It’s hard. Liam murmured, his voice lower now. “Being the cause of someone’s
is pain… and not being able to do anything but blame yourself for it.”
I slowly lowered my hand to my lap, curling my fingers into a fist.
How he spoke didn’t feel like he was talking about Ryker anymore. It felt like he was talking about himself
For a moment, 1–hnout believed him. His voice held something close to regret as if he were thinking about a past he wished he could change.

But then I heard it again.
Those words. The ones that
at had sluitered me.
“Abort it.”
Gill her. I don’t care.

A shiver ran through me, the memory slamming into my chest like a tidal wave. The whispers in my head grew louder, relentless, cruel
1 shot to my feet, my hands trembling.
“Til just go to the restroom, Sir,” I said, my voice barely steady. Without waiting for a response, I turned away, desperate to escape before the ghosts of the past consumed me whole.
