In the days followed, Alpha Frank didn’tcome to bother me,
There were always a few bouquets of flowers placed at the door of the ward.
Every time Nill went out, he seemed to do it
on purpose.
With a single kick, he would send the flowers flying to the side.
Every time he threw them away, he would mutter softly, “Alpha Frank, stop wasting your efforts.”
I knew that the flowers were from Alpha Frank.

Nill took the shopping list I gave him and went out to buy groceries.
Suddenly, I grabbed his arm, her eyes shining brightly. “Nill, I suddenly have a craving for apple pie. After you buy the groceries, go look for some. I want the kind that’s just out of the oven, with a crispy crust and soft, sweet apple filling inside.”
Nill smiled helplessly. “You and your sudden cravings. But I’m not sure if there’s any around here that’ll suit your taste.”

“Okay, okay. I’ll do my best“. Then he jingled his car keys and went out.
Not long after he left, there was a knock on the door, and as expected, it was Alpha Frank.
He was holding a bouquet of flowers.
“Please don’t leave these here anymore”
“It’ll make him think too much.”
Only after Alpha Frank calmed down did he realize that it was impossible for me to have a child that old in just three years, especially considering my illness.

“Don’t die,” Nill suddenly raised his voice.
“If you die, Nancy will remember you for the rest of her life. For the past three years, it’s been me who’s been by her side, and it’s been me who’s given everything for her. If you have any sense of conscience left, stop bothering her!”
Alpha Frank fell silent for a long time.
It was only when the cigarette burned his finger that he snapped back to reality. He said in a hoarse voice, “Alright, I understand.”
Just then, the door of the operating room opened, and a nurse shouted, “The patient’s life is at risk!”
Nill’s head went blank with a loud “buzz“.
