The three days passed in a blur.
Moony finished packing our meager belongings.
She then poured a cup of healing soup and offered it to me.
“Wizard Muna, just a little longer. The guards will be here soon to escort us out of the palace.”
I reached out with my left hand to take the cup, but as our fingers brushed, my hand suddenly gave way. The cup slipped from my grasp and crashed to the floor, shattering into a million pieces.

Mid–way through, she paused, and I could see the glistening tears in her eyes. “Wizard Muna, your condition is worsening. You can’t even hold a cup now,”
I gently reached out and stroked her hair. “That’s why I’m worried about you coming with me. It’ll be a hard journey.”
Moony vigorously shook her head, her eyes wide with determination. “I’m willing to follow you, Wizard Muna. I’ll never leave you, not for the rest of my life!”
I was taken aback for a moment, and a bittersweet smile tugged at my lips. Poor girl, if only she knew that my time was running out, and there was no “rest of my life” for me.

echoed outside.
Moony’s face lit up with joy.
“That must be the guards! We’re finally leaving!”
She rushed inside to fetch our bags, and I slowly rose from the stone bench. But before I could even take a step, the door burst open with a violent kick.
A blur of motion rushed towards me, and in an instant, a strong hand clamped around my neck.
I looked up and saw the Alpha’s face, twisted with rage, his eyes blood – red with fury.
“Tell me, where is Snow?” he roared.

“Bring Snow back right now! Or I’ll make your life a living hell!”
“Alpha. I’ve never seen Luna Snow. How could I possibly know where she is?”
“Still playing innocent!” he snarled, and with a powerful jerk, he hurled me across the
room.
My body slammed into the stone table, and all the air was knocked out of my lungs.
I gasped for breath, the pain searing through my body.
Moony rushed out of the room and, seeing the scene, immediately dropped to her
knees.

She can’t endure such abuse! I beg you, have mercy on her!”
“Get out of the way, you lowly servant!” the Alpha growled, and with a swift kick, he sent Moony flying across the room.
“Moony!”
My eyes widened in horror, and I started to crawl towards her. But in the next moment, the cold edge of a sword pressed against my neck.
I froze, my eyes locked with the Alpha’s
“Three days after you woke up, Luna Snow disappeared. We’ve searched every corner of the palace, but she’s nowhere to be found. Who else could hate her enough to do this. but you?”

Blood filled my mouth, but I managed to speak.
“So, Alpha, you think that in my weakened state, I could evade the guards and abduct Luna–Snow?”
The Alpha’s brows furrowed, and just then, my treacherous former – sister, Rosy, appeared.
“Your body may be weak, but you know the dark arts of the werewolf curses. With an accomplice, it would be easy to bewitch Luna Snow, she hissed.
A young servant girl stepped forward, her body trembling in fear.
“Your Majesty, I saw this girl, Moony, near Luna’s palace the other day,” she stammered.

Moony’s eyes widened in shock.
“I didn’t! I swear, Alpha, I didn’t!”
The guards, acting swiftly, grabbed Moony and pinned her arms behind her back.
“Let her go! She’s never left the Frostbitten Asylum. How could she have been seen at Luna’s palace?”
I cried out
“Sister, are you saying that all those witnesses are lying?” Rosy sneered, then
turned to the guards.
“Since she won’t admit it, take this accomplice to the Torture Chambers. Apply every punishment until she breaks.”

As the guards dragged Moony away, I lunged towards them, but the Alpha grabbed me, holding me back with his superstrength.
I fell to my knees. “Please, Alpha, Moony is innocent! I’ll go to the Torture Chambers in her place. Please, spare her!”
The Alpha’s expression wavered, and for a moment, I thought I saw a glimmer of doubt in his eyes.
But Rosy was quick to intervene.
“Alpha, this servant girl is her weakness. If we let her go, we’ll never find Luna Snow, .

“Throw this servant into the Torture Chambers. Apply all the punishments, but make sure she doesn’t die.”
The punishments in the Torture Chambers were worse than death itself, especially for a werewolf who valued strength and freedom.
Moony’s cries for mercy grew fainter as she was dragged away.
I tried to run after her, but the guards held me back.
The next moment, a rush of blood surged up my throat, and I spat it out, staining my clothes.
“Muna!”
I heard the Alpha call out.

“Alpha, I didn’t abduct Luna Snow. Please… spare Moony. I’ll prove my innocence with my life…”

When I finally woke up, I was drenched in cold sweat, my body trembling from the nightmare.
In my dream, Moony had died.
