Chapter9
Three days later, the chief steward rushed in.
“Alpha! A wandering healer from the wilds claims to have a remedy for Muna’s arms.”
The Alpha’s eyes lit up like torches in the night. “Quick! Bring him in!”
Moments later, the wandering healer appeared, clutching a vial of liquid.
I knew exactly what it was.
A potion that would sap the very life force from one’s body, offering only a fleeting moment of false vitality.
The one who drank it would meet a violent end within half a moon.

The Alpha roared. “You dare bring this poison for Muna? What is your foul intent? Guards! Beat him to death at once!”
The chief steward, who had served the Alpha loyally for many moons, dropped to his knees with a thud.
“Alpha! Please, think twice!”
“This potion will surely harm Muna, but the battle on the border is on the verge of collapse. If we delay, it won’t be just half a moon… even a few days might be too late.”
The Alpha crushed the teacup, his face as dark as a storm – cloud.
But he fell silent.
After a long moment, he turned to me.

“Muna… This is for the sake of our pack. The battle cannot wait. As Alpha, I cannot stand by and watch our pack be destroyed. At least the innocent civilians are blameless.”
He was practically begging me to sacrifice myself.
How absurd.
I let out a laugh that was more like a sob, and took the vial.
The moment the liquid touched my tongue, I crumpled to the ground, blood gushing from my nostrils.
“Scoundrel!”
The Alpha kicked the wandering healer away.

You said this potion would heal Muna!! Why is she bleeding?”
“This blood is the body expelling the toxins. It’s inevitable!”
As he spoke, I managed to get back to my feet.
The Alpha stared at me in disbelief.
I tried to lift my arms. There was no response from my right shoulder, but my left arm, the one that hadn’t been impaled, seemed to come back to life.
The chief steward exclaimed,
“Congratulations, Alpha! Congratulations, Muna! The battle is saved!”
To break Snow’s dark curse, the one who

sought to dispel it had to carve a sacred
rune on a massive boulder and then use their
own blood to activate it.
When the blood filled the grooves and dripped from the bottom, the curse would be broken.
It took me two days to carve the rune and use my blood to activate it.
Sure enough, our pack’s warriors achieved a great victory in the battle.
Celebrations echoed throughout the pack.
I wiped the blood from my nose, not saying a word about the hidden cost: the one who used their blood to break the curse had to live a long life.
If a short–lived soul did it, the curse would

rebound on the day of their death.
The Alpha wanted to bestow the title of Luna upon me.
On the day of the ceremony, a bold warrior stepped forward.
“Alpha, think again! This Muna was once a lowly servant in the Red Lair. Her humble status might sully the title of Luna. It would be more fitting to give her the position of a mere attendant.”
The Alpha’s eyes turned cold as ice.
He drew his sword and thrust it through the warrior’s body.
Everyone fell silent, their breaths held in fear.
The Alpha kicked the body away with a snarl.

“Those who question Muna will meet the same fate. The title of Luna belongs to Muna and no other. From this day forward, she will be my one and only mate for life!”
I watched it all with a blank expression, as if it were a farce.
After the ceremony, the Alpha carried me, his heart full of love.
“Muna, how about giving me a little she – wolf cub? She’ll be just like you.”
I sneered at him. “Sure. I’ve got all the time. in the world. How many do you want? I’ll give them to you.”
He froze.
