Chapter 2
I was forced into his Maybach, staring out at the rain, when he murmured, “Seems like tomorrow isn’t a good day for a wedding.”
I responded firmly, “Rain or no rain, I’m marrying Fred.”
He chuckled coldly, “Then tonight should be well spent, can’t let such a beautiful evening go to waste.”
As soon as he finished speaking, his phone rang. He put it on speaker, and the chaotic sounds of a club filled the car.
“Mr. Mills, why aren’t you here yet? We were supposed to be celebrating Mr. Garner’s bachelor party today!”

“Fred?”
“That guy’s drunk out of his mind, Elvina’s taking him to the hotel.”
“Mr. Mills, you know Elvina, right? The female lead in the movie Mr. Garner’s been investing in recently”
Nevo glanced at me, his tone flat. “After all, he’s getting married tomorrow.”
“He said he couldn’t try Luna’s innocent little flower until he marries her. That woman’s been pure, hasn’t given Fred anything.”
“Oh? Is that so?”
“I think it’s all an act. Who knows how many men she’s been with? Wasn’t she just a poor college girl? God knows how many times she’s sold herself.”

Filthy yovosds kept drilling into my ears, myny hands cletenching into fists, my teeth grinding togethener.
Nevo spokekagagain, “I won’t be going. I wantnt to get some sledeep tonight.”
“Mr. Mills, you’re reot of the type to sleep early. Got a woman besiside you tonight?”
The voice on the otheher end still lamented, but Nevo had already hungngpup.
Thinking about the sceneriel’diwitnessed at the club, despite being utteterly disappointed in Fred, I still wanted to givéve him one last chance.
I sent him a message: Fred, whenere are you?

waiting. After what felt like an eternity, I finally received a reply. Luna, I’m at home. Getting ready to sleep. You should rest too. You’ll be my beautiful bride tomorrow.
My heart dropped to the bottom. I replied: Fred, I miss you.
Soon, another message popped up: I miss you too.
Miss me?
The day before our wedding, he was with a woman at a hotel, and this was how he was “missing” me?
I sighed softly and turned to the man beside me. “Mr. Mills, you don’t need to take me home. Just drop me here; I’ll take a taxi.”
“I didn’t say I’m taking you home.”

“What do you mean?”
Nevo smiled, saying, “I mean I’m taking you to my place.”
Getting into Nevo’s car was like boarding a pirate ship.
Before long, Nevo’s Maybach pulled into a European–style villa. After parking, I had no choice but to follow him inside.
He poured himself a glass of red wine, glanced at me, and said, “Go upstairs, take a shower, and change into something clean.”
A sense of unease settled in my chest. I had no idea what Nevo’s intentions were.
Once upstairs, just as I was about to lock the door to the guest room, the man pushed it

open.
“I think you don’t want to wash alone,” he said.
With each step he took toward me, I felt cornered, with no way out.
He cupped my chin and studied me in silence for a while before asking, “Don’t you want revenge?”
Revenge? Revenge on Fred? But tomorrow, I’m supposed to be his bride. Can I even call off the wedding now?
For four years, I’ve relied on the money he gave me to finish my studies. I thought he loved me, but now it feels like I’m just another possession–one he can toss aside at will.

“Fred’s been with other women before your wedding night. Don’t you want revenge, Luna? Are you really that spineless?”
Nevo’s grip tightened, and I struggled, finally breaking free from his control. I stared at him, steady and cold. “What do you want from me?”
“You’ve washed Fred before, right? Then wash me today.”
He began to strip before me, piece by piece, until there was nothing left. His bronze skin, perfect curves, defined muscles, and the faint outline of his V–line were all exposed to
- me.
He turned his back and sat in the bathtub.
My cold fingers traced his neck as I pleaded, “Why me?”
