Chapter 7
For a month, whenever I focused on my art, I would always find a quiet place, turn off my phone, avoid any information, and reject any interruptions. This time, I had cut myself off from the outside world for two days.
Tamia found me on the mountain. I was sitting by the river, sketching. She looked like she had been running for her life, and with a look of relief, she exclaimed, “Luna, I finally found you!”
Seeing her panting and clearly having come a long way, I asked in confusion, “What’s wrong, Tamia? Is there something wrong with the gallery?”
“No, no,” she replied, “it’s not the gallery. It’s Mr. Mills. Something happened to him.”

My eyes widened in shock. I hurriedly followed Tamia down the mountain. On the way, I learned that Nevo had been in a serious car accident, and the person responsible for the hit–and–run was Fred.
My heart raced. My hands clenched tightly, and tears streamed down my face as panic filled me. Tamia continuously reassured me, “Mr. Mills is a good man, and he’ll be fine. Luna, don’t worry.”
When we reached the hospital, Nevo had just been wheeled out of the operating room. The doctor said the surgery had gone well, but whether he would wake up depended on his willpower.
I stayed by his bedside for three days, and that was when I met Nevo’s brother, Harvey, who had returned from abroad.

Afterward, I went to Georgia. I thought that the further I was from home, the fewer troubles I would have. But in the end, my father went missing, and I reluctantly became Fred’s girlfriend just to continue my studies.
