The wedding day of Waimea and Hart arrived quickly.
Shervin had sent invitations to everyone in the mafia, including my father. He had also planned to publicly announce my identity, so he brought me along.
The wedding venue was set on a romantic outdoor lawn, with photos of Waimea and Hart adorning almost every corner. As we got out of the car, I walked quietly by my father’s side, my expression neutral. It seemed that, perhaps because he had something on his mind, my father looked unusually tense. Even though I couldn’t see his eyes behind his sunglasses, the aura around him made it clear that he was nervous. I could imagine just how much of a threat Shervin must be.

“No, no way…” Waimea gasped, shaking her head. Her gaze at me was filled with jealousy.
“You were supposed to be burned to death in that fire! How could you still be alive?”
I sneered at her. “Miss Slater, how do you know I was in a fire? Were you there when it happened?”
At my words, the eyes of everyone around me shifted toward Waimea.
