Chapter 34
The resume was nothing remarkable. The only thing that stood out was that Amaris’s grandfather owned a small clinic. Thanks to his impressive medical skills, he had connections with nuny influential people.
Wealthy individuals, grateful for his help, often gifted him valuable items in return. That explained how Amaris had managed to collect such an impressive collection of antiques and paintings–it was all thanks to her grandfather.
Cric couldn’t help feeling a twinge of disappointment. Apart from their astrological compatibility, he and Amaris seemed to have nothing in
On the other hand, Mary intrigued him. The fact that there was no information about her suggested she was hiding something significant.
Could those secrets have anything to do with Fiora? Ourir thought
suddenly, a sharp pain flared in his chest. Oric insinctively pressed a hand to the spot, his brows furrowing deeply.
Lately, these attacks had been growing more frequently. Though Oric could still manage, the pain gnawed at him like insects eating away at his insides—a torment that was becoming increasingly hard to bear.
Soon. Noah noticed his discomfort and grew concerned immediately. He asked. “Mr. Hale, is it happening again? Curevard is just right here. Should I help you inside to see Dr. Crowel”
“No” Ostic snapped, his eyes flashing with irritation. But his outburst only worsened the pain, making it harder for him to hold on,
Meanwhile, Amaris arrived at Curevard Medical School for her first day. Selwyn, one of Thane’s students, had been assigned to show her around.
Selwyn still didn’t understand how someone like Amaris had managed to secure a teaching position at the school
To make things harder for her, Selwyn deliberately assigned Amaris to teach physiology–a subject notorious for being a nightmare for students
The saying “Physiology and biochemistry, guaranteed to fail wasn’t an exaggeration. Selwyn doubted Amans could even understand the textbooks. let alone teach them.
If the students failed her class inevitably, it would be the end of her career here.
Handing over the lecture materials, Selwyn asked mockingly, “You can read this, right?”
Amaris glanced at her coldly, took the books, and walked away.
“Wow, she’s got some attitude; Selwyn thought with a smirk. It wouldn’t last long. Soon, that pride would come crashing down
“Oh, and just so you know, Selwyn called after her, “all new instructors are required to give an evaluation lecture. The dean will attend and grade you. If you don’t pass, you’re out. One week to prepare
“Got it.” Amaris replied coolly
At the teaching department, the first b
hell rang jastas Amaris and Selwyn arrived.
A group of students running late passed them, but one of them froze mid–step when he saw Amaris. He stared at her face, wide–eyed, before slapping a hand over his mouth. “Holy crap!“”
Selwyn smiled smugly. She’d already spread the word around campus about the so–called “privileged hire.” A village girl with no real qualifications had managed to snag a teaching job over more experienced candidates.
“This is going to be public humiliation at its finest, Selwyn thought gleefully.
Inade the classroom, the student burst in, breathless and excited. “Guys, guess who I just sane?”
it your celebrity crush, Humay?”
“Seriously” Ismay” She’s just some scandal–ridden socialite. What’s so great about her?”
“Stop stalling and tril
Dorian scanned the room for the class president, Lennon, but before he could speak, Selwyn and Amaris entered the classroom

The moment Lennon and Dorian saw Amaris, the room fell silent. Her presence was striking, like a delicate ink painting brought to life.

Then Selwyn stepped onto the podium and said, “As you’ve probably heard, we have a new instructor joining us. Let me introduce Amaris, your new advisor and physiology instructor for the semester.
Selwyn paused, watching the students reactions, then added with a sly smile, “Ms. Wynn is new, so please be patient with her. If there’s anything you don’t understand during her lectures, feel free to ask her to explain it again. I’m sure she won’t mind.”
After Selwyn finished, the room immediately erupted into murmurs,
“Wait, no way, Is she seriously the new instructor?”
“Dude, isn’t that the little stammerer I just started following online? She’s awesome! And her fiance is Osric! She even went viral with that fifty million canvas bag
“Oh my God, it is her! She’s adorable in person. I can’t believe she’s going to be our teacher!”
Selwyn’s triumphant smile faltered. Something about the atmosphere felt off. Why does everyone seem excited to see Amaris? she wondered.
Suddenly, a girl stood up. “Ms. Wynn, I know who you are! My brother came to interview here and fainted from nerves. Dr. Crowe couldn’t save him, but you did. My brother said you saved his life!”
“What? That amazing doctor you keep bragging about is Ms. Wynn?”
Even Lennon turned to look at Amaris with newfound respect. The girl, now near tears, said earnestly, Thank you, Ms. Wynn, It’s an honor to be your student!”
Selwyn’s face darkened as she watched the scene unfold. Shooting one last look at Amaris, she muttered, “I guess you’re more popular than i thought. Looks like I was worried about nothing
With that, Selwyn left the room, visibly disappointed. As soon as she was gone, the class erupted into cheers.
