As soon as Leonard left, Bella texted Lia, “Why didn’t you invite Leonard to the dinner party? I just bumped into him, and he asked about you
Lia replied instantly, “I forgot! I assumed he was busy and didn’t want to disturb him. It’s no big deal, though, right? You don’t need to lecture me about it.”
Bella didn’t mean to scold her. It appeared like Lia had merely been negligent.
Later in the afternoon, Dominic called to say they were going over to Sawyer M
Manor for dinner and asloed Bella to finish work early.
He thoughtfully informed the hospital director about her leave, so all she needed to do was go.

She forced herself not to look at him because the more she looked, the more hooked she grew,
“Is it a formal event? Do I have to wear a gown?” she asked.
He nodded and called Sylvia to bring out the gown he had prepared for her in advance.
Bella went to her room to change. The gown was strapless and long, one of her least favorite designs. Despite the solid fit, it seemed too exposed for her taste. She threw on a white mid–length fur coat to cover herself up as much as possible. She let her hair down because she wasn’t very good at styling it, which didn’t look horrible.

For a moment, Bella was dumbfounded. She wondered if he chose this gown because he assumed she couldn’t pull it oft. Nevertheless, she had to agree that there would be little to show if she had a flat chest.

She gave his arm a light pinch in protest. However, she quickly stopped as she sensed a flirty tinge to their actions. She worried that joking like this too often might blur the line between teasing and reality.
When they arrived at Sawyer Manor, Bella noticed Leonard greeting the visitors at the door. She believed today’s event had something to do with him, so she quietly asked Dominic, “What’s the purpose of tonight’s dinner? Rich people don’t throw parties without a purpose, night?”
Dominic got two glasses of champagne from a waiter and gave one to her. “It’s a blind date event arranged by Mr. Sawyer for Leonard. Aside from that, everyone else is here to mingle and network with influential business figures.”
She was astonished to leam that Leonard was going on a blind date because she thought Diane liked Lia. But the magnificent event in front of her made her doubt her assumption
As she took a shot of her champagne and gazed around, she noticed a familiar figure. The champagne was stuck in her throat, and she began coughing uncontrollably.
Domine gently rubbed her back and asked, “Are you okay? How did you manage to choke on this?”
