Bella didn’t know what to say. Lia and her were polar opposites. If she were in her position, she would’ve only been able to retaliate verbally.

Lia wanted to get him to give her a ride. She was just about to hop into the car when Leonard caught up to her.
“I’ll give you a ride instead, Lia,” he offered.
She waved him off. “It’s okay. I’ll just go with Bella.”
He flashed her an amused grin. “I’m only offering because my dad told me to.”
She hesitated for a moment before saying yes. After bidding Bella and Dominic goodbye, she got into Leonard’s car. “Thank you.”
Leonard glanced at her. “I should be the one thanking you. Also sorry for my mother’s sudden invitation.”

Lia seemed to have forgotten that Leonard was driving. She playfully punched him and said, “That’s right. You lucked out!”

Pudding slumped to the floor. Upset, she stared at Bella with sad and pitiful eyes.

“Go look for Dominic. He has plenty of energy. Ask him to bring you outside.”
Despite not being able to understand her, Pudding recognized the name “Dominic” she immediately got up and ran off with her leash.
