Chapter 126
Such family drama was always a crowd favorite. It didn’t take long before a crowd had gathered.
Dexter and Rhea became the center of attention, with people all around them snapping photos enthusiastically.
Dexter yelled at Rhea, cursing her out. 1 was working overtime at the office that day, who the hell knows about your mess? Just wait. I’m not letting this go
He wiped his face, then quickly pushed his way out of the crowd. He probably realized how embarrassing it was to be the center of attention and didn’t want to keep arguing with Rhea in public.
Meanwhile, Rhea, who had been beaten, was sitting on the ground, crying her eyes out
I watched all of this from a distance, and to be honest. I felt a sense of satisfaction.
I had always thought that extramarital affairs–especially ones that broke free from the constraints of marriage–were supposed to be these epic, tragic love stories. Yet, all it took was a little business card from me to unravel their whole relationship.
Having been married to Dexter for years, I knew him well. He’d always been petty and small–minded.
Back then, I thought, “Who doesn’t have their flaws? And since his seemed so minor, I let it slide. I gave him the most freedom and trust anyone could give.
With me, Dexter never fully showed his pettiness–because I never gave him the chance.
But Rhea was different. She had another man in her heart, and she didn’t know Dexter the way I did.
That was why, when I slipped that business card into the fruit basket, it led Dexter straight to the evidence of her going house–hunting with some older guy.
Honestly. Dexter was a bit slow on the uptake. I figured he would’ve figured it out a few days earlier.
As the crowd finally dispersed and the line cleared. I grabbed the pastries Juno loved and was about to head home when someone suddenly called out to me. “Sylvia!”
It was Rhea. She saw me and hastily tried to wipe the blood from her face with her sleeve. But it was too late–the blood had already dried and left her face looking like a grotesque mask,
I barely managed a smile. “Let me warn you don’t come any closer, or I’ll defend myself and hit you?
Rhea froze. “What are you talking about? I haven’t done anything to you!”
“My family’s been destroyed by you. You took Dexter, and now you’re charging at me in public? You think I wouldn’t be on edge?” I said, my tone cool and detached, a faint smile still on my lips.
You saw everything, didn’t you?” She choked with both anger and hurt.
“I’m not blind, obviously I saw,” I replied. “I didn’t expect Dexter to hit you so hard though. You should probably get that looked at at a nearby hospital–it’s starting to look pretty creepy
Rhea was livid. “You must be enjoying this, huh? You just got divorced, and now you get to watch him hit me, You’re just like all the other women…” “Yeah, I’m definitely enjoying it. I’d love it if he hit you even harder.” I nodded. “Honestly, I think he should’ve disfigured you. Watching you two tear each other apart like this… I’ll be able to have a great appetite tonight.”
Rhea’s eyes went wide in disbelief, clearly shocked by what I had said.
I turned and walked around her. “If I were you, I wouldn’t come looking for trouble with the ex–wife. Your own life is falling apart, and you still have
time to waste nii ine?”
I left my words hanging unsure if she would take the hint. But seeing all this drama unfold? Yeah, it was making my day. I glanced at the pastries I’d bought and couldn’t resist taking a bite.
I was stunned when I saw the man leaning against my car door.
