Chapter 86
I didn’t expect Rhea to follow me here. I couldn’t help but sneer and locked eyes with her.
Rhea was startled, clearly caught off guard. She quickly looked away, flustered
I felt speechless. I thought, What a coward–she dares to follow me, but can’t even confront me face to face. Pathetic! No wonder she’s only brave enough to pull dirty tricks behind my back!
But since she was here, I needed to be ready for anything. While Dexter was busy taking sticker photos with Juno, I called my bodyguards.
Within moments, two of them had positioned themselves nearby, ready to act at the slightest sign of trouble from either Rhea or Dexter. The mall had security too, and with so many people around, I felt a bit more secure.
“Mommy, look! I just took this with Daddy!” Juno proudly showed me the sticker photo. “It’s so fun! Look, my face is so big?”
Jono is so adorable.” I smiled, reaching over to pinch his cheek.
“Let’s eat first, Dexter suggested. “Afterward, we can rest for a bit. I saw on my phone that there’s a kids‘ play area on the first floor. We could take Juno there,”
Dexter was always so refined in public–his polite, gentle demeanor almost felt unfamiliar to me now.
I nodded. “Sure, but no rough play, okay?”
Juno piped up, “I promise, Mommy! I want to make clay figures with Daddy and paint with him too!”
“That’s fine,” I replied.
We sat down in a fast food restaurant–nothing too cheap, but the food was good, and Juno liked it too.
After we ordered, I pretended to touch up my makeup with a compact mirror, but really, I was keeping an eye out to see if Rhea was still following us
Dexter noticed and seemed surprised. “You’ve gotten into the habit of wearing makeup now. Your makeup looked really nice last time. It suits you.”
“Yeah, I didn’t wear much makeup before because I thought you might not like it. Being a woman in the workplace is tough -you run into all sorts of people with dirty hands.
“I used to wear less makeup, thinking it would help keep a low profile, protect my family. But now, my mindset has changed. I’m almost free, so why should I care?”
As I spoke, I lowered my eyes and caught a familiar figure in the mirror. Just as I expected–Rhea had followed us in. I thought, “Looks like our little outing today really bothers her. Well, that’s fine–it’s going to bother her even more.
The juice arrived, and I handed it to Juno, only to quickly snatch it back and pass it to Dexter. “You pour it for your son. Don’t let him drink too much at once.”
Dexter smiled, unintentionally brushing my hand as he took the glass,
I turned away, trying to hide my discomfort.
But Dexter’s smile remained a little too knowing, a little too intimate. He grinned at me before pouring a glass for Juno.

“Here you go, your favorite. Daddy’s going to pour it for you.”
“Thanks, Daddy!” Juno’s voice was as sweet and innocent as ever, and it was loud enough for Rhea to hear.
Out of the corner of my eye, I saw her quickly making her way toward us. I smiled and stood up. “You two eat first, Mommy just needs to use the restroom.
I lowered my head, pretending to check my phone, and made my way straight toward Rhea. Before I even reached her, I grabbed her hand and yanked her outside the restaurant.
Rhea panicked. “What are you doing? Let go of me!”
I shoved a wad of tissues into her mouth before she could say anything else, and finally, she fell silent
“Today is a rare day for my son to have some fun, and I don’t want anyone ruining it. I definitely don’t want to see him disappointed. If I catch you trying to interfere again, I’ll break your hand,” I said.
Rhea’s eyes filled with tears.
1 sneered.
