Chapter 19%
June’s POV
ngon kiting me, but the way she said it was so chilling
My heart raced at April’s words I knew she was planning
But she continued, “I want it to look like an accident”
I clenched my jaw “You won’t get away with this.”
April laughed. “I will” She replied.!
The door opened behind her, and a man stepped inside. He was the only person that had agreed to work with April
“Are you ready?” he asked gruffly.
April turned to him, nodding. “Yes, let’s make this look like an accident.”
A shiver crawled down my spine.
I had to get out of here. Now!
“Her car is packed outside” The man informed April.
She smiled. “That’s perfect. We can make it look like a car accident
A sense of dread settled in my stomach as I listened to April and the man talk like I wasn’t even there. They had already planned every step.
The man’s arms were folded as he spoke with April. I watched him, silently pleading with him to help me. When he caught my eyes, something unexpected happened.
He smirked, and when April wasn’t looking, he winked at me.
My breath hitched. What the hell was that?
April didn’t notice, she was lost in thought as she planned how to get rid of me “Alright,” she said, rolling up the sleeves of her shirt. “Let’s get this over with.“B
April tumed back to me, and pulled out a syringe filled with a transparent liquid. “This,” she said with a smile, “is an untraceable paralyzing drug. You’ll be awake, June, but you won’t be able to move a single muscle.””
Panic surged through me.
“Then we’ll strap you in your car, roll it off the bridge, and cops,” she giggled mockingly, “a tragic accident”
My eyes widened. “No!” I yelled, thrashing in the chair, but it was useless.
April grabbed my arm, while the man grabbed the other as she pushed the needle in.
The effect was almost immediate. My body went numb, and I slumped in the chair. My muscles refused to move, no matter how much I tried. I could still feel, still hear, still think, but I couldn’t move
April pulled out a sharp looking knife, and approached me with a smirk
“Let’s have a little fun.” She whispered.
The man cleared his throat. “There’s no time for any of that. Cut her loose fast so that we can move. Someone might notice if she’s missing for too long.”
April rolled her eyes. “Relax, we have time. No one’s coming for her.” She replied, but she handed the knife to him.2
“Cut her loose.” She commanded with a scowl.
Just the man moved to cut me loose, the door burst open, and men in black suits stormed in carrying heavy guns. My heart pounded, but I couldn’t even flinch at the loud sound.
“June!” A familiar voice called. Killian. His eyes were filled with concern and relief.2
“Are you okay?” He asked, approaching me.
My heart leapt in joy as relief flooded through me. I couldn’t move, and I couldn’t talk, but looking

him, I knew that everything was going to be fine
April shrieked as she glanced around. She knew she was outnumbered. Before I could blink, she pulled a gun from her waistband and pointed it at me.
“No one move!” she screamed, her eyes were wide with panic. “I swear to God, I shoot hers
Killian paused for a moment but he didn’t look fazed. He glanced at something beside me, and in a blur, the man who had winked at me moved.!!
He knocked the gun out of her hand before she could react, and the gun fell to the ground.
April gawked at him in shock. “What the-”
The man smirked, stepping between her and me. “Sorry, sweetheart,” he said. “You should know that no one works against ‘capo dei capo. Anyone who tells you otherwise is lying to you.” He said,
Killian gave April an icy glare. “Did you really think you could come to my territory, take what’s mine and get away with it?”
April screamed like a maniac and dived for her gun. But Killian was faster. He kicked the gun away from her reach, then his guards rushed forward and grabbed the shrieking April.
“This is not over yet! Пll make sure I kill you, June!” She yelled as she was dragged away
“June” Killian called, drawing my attention back to him. Tm here, amore. You’re safe.” He said softly.
