I slowly opened my eyes, and to my surprise, I saw Chase standing in front of me, gripping my father’s wrist firmly.

Chase didn’t even bother responding to the excuse. Instead, he landed a few quick punches, each one pushing my father backward. Blood started dripping from his nose, and his face shifted from shock to fear. Even my mother was stunned, too shocked to say a word.

Seeing my father in this state, my mother rushed to his side, shielding him from Chase “You dare to hit someone! Do you have no respect? I’ll call the police and have you arrested!”
Chase looked at her coldly. “Call the police, if you want, Let’s see if they arrest me or arrest you”
With that, he turned to me, gently helping me to my feet. “Emma, let’s get you to the hospital”
Chase’s hand was warm and strong, like a ray of sunshine cutting through the winter chill, driving the cold from my heart. He supported me as we walked out of the house, my steps unsteady, but his presence grounded me.

I leaned into his embrace, soaking in his warmth. A sense of sweetness and security washed over me, making everything feel right for the first time in a long while!!
After a thorough checkup at the hospital, the doctor assured us it was just a minor surface injury–nothing serious.
Still, Chase insisted I stay overnight for observation, his worry clearly written on his face.
Lying in the hospital bed, I watched as Chase bustled around, taking care of me with such tenderness that it filled my heart with warmth. He peeled an apple for me, poured me water, and even cracked a few jokes to make me laugh.
“Emma, your smile is really beautiful,” he said, his eyes soft as he gazed at me.”
I felt a slight blush creep up my cheeks, feeling a little embarrassed under his gaze. “You’re just trying to make me happy.” He smiled, but it was sincere. 1 mean it?!
Then, without warning, he leaned down and placed a gentle kiss on my forehead. “Emma, you’re the most beautiful girl I’ve ever met.” His kiss was so light, like a feather brushing past my skin, but it stirred something deep inside me, making my heartbeat quicken as if it were going to burst out of my chest
I turned my head, trying to hide my flustered smile. “Stop flattering me, Chase”
Just then, the door swung open, and Jason walked in.
His face was dark, his eyes sharp, scanning back and forth between Chase and me.
“Emma, what are you two doing?” Jason’s voice was full of accusations
I was startled by his sudden appearance, but Chase remained unfazed. He stood up, positioning himself between me and Jason, his eyes hard and unyielding.
“Can’t you tell? I’m her husband, taking care of her, Chase said coolly. “What the hell are you doing here?”
Jason didn’t acknowledge Chase at all.!!!
Instead, he walked straight to my bedside, grabbing my hand with urgency, his face twisted with concern and anger
“Emma, why is your face swollen? Did this guy hit you?”
