Chapter 22%
Third Person’s POV
Ava opened her mouth to say something, but Jason cut her off. “Alright, Ava, you’re not feeling well. Go back to your room and rest” Jason had just comforted Ava, his mind still swirling with regret. Seeing her pitiful state, he couldn’t help but think about how coldly Emma had left.
‘t have spoken to me the way he did.
A sharp pang of remorse hit him. He realized he shouldn’t have been so rash, and he shouldn’t After all, what he and Emma had were seven years together.
However, when he came back to the hospital and returned to Emma’s room, he was met with an empty bed. “Where’s Emma Thompson? Room 3027” Jason asked urgently, gasping as he rushed to the nurse’s station..
The nurse didn’t even look up as she flipped through her paperwork. “Emma in room 302? She checked out already.”
“Checked out? When? Where did she go?” Jason’s mind went blank, as though he’d just been hit by a truck.
“About half an hour ago the nurse replied, clearly uncomfortable with his aggressive tone. “Sir, if you’re a family member, please…” “Tm her boyfriend Jason nearly shouted, spinning around and storming out
Damn it!
She just left without a word?!!
Was she really that eager to leave him??
Seven years–seven whole years–could she really just let go so easily??
Meanwhile, Ava, still in the hospital room, saw Jason’s outburst.
Her face darkened, and she clenched her fist so tightly that her sharp nails dug into her palm. The pain snapped her out of frustration, forcing her to keep it together.
Seven years…
She had plotted for seven years. Now when success was in her grasp, how could it all fall apart?!
The next day. Jason angrily inquired about Emma’s whereabouts. Through some contacts, he eventually discovered Chase’s identity “Heir to the Thompson Group of Companies… So Emma is with someone like that? No wonder she left me without hesitation… Jason’s mind was a storm of emotions. His fists were clenched so tightly that his knuckles turned white.
The Thompson Group was well–known not only in the business world but in society as a whole.
With investments in everything from real estate to healthcare, they were a giant in various fields. Jason felt small in comparison, and it gnawed at him that I’d chosen to be with someone so influential.
Unable to get in touch with me, his fury bumed, but all he could do was seethe.
“Emma, have you really become this heartless? Not even giving me a chance?”
Emma’s POV
1
In the meantime, I was busy preparing to launch my own perfume business.?
After university, I sacrificed the chance to study abroad in France for Jason–choosing instead to stay by his side and help manage his company. Looking back, it all felt so pointless. I had given up so much for him, only to find out he was sneaking around with other
women.
Thankfully, I still had Chase.
Not only did Chase provide me with financial support, but he also helped me connect with top perfumers, both locally and
internationally.
He offered professional guidance and advice, respecting my dreams and supporting my career. He made me feel safe, valued, and understood.
One day, as we discussed my studio, Chase asked. “Emma, this is the studio I’ve prepared for you. Do you like it?”
As I looked around, I couldn’t help but smile, grateful for everything he was doing for me.)
Just then, I received a message from Jason, laced with bitterness.
[You’re shameless! What can Chase give you? What does he have besides money? Can he give you the love I gave you?]!
I sneered as I read the message, shaking my head at his ignorance.
I replied without hesitation.”
[Love? Jason, your so–called love is about taking me to the top floor of a luxury office building, opening a carved wooden door, and letting sunlight pour in through the floor–to–ceiling windows, illuminating a spacious and bright studio.
I stared at the message before setting my phone down, feeling an odd sense of freedom.
