Chapter 11
As I busied myself with the preparations for the banquet, I couldn’t help but feel a sense of worry never leaving my side. My grandmother, frail but determined, had entrusted me with the task of hosting this grand event. It was a chance for our pack to reclaim its former glory, and I was determined to make it a success.
Just as I was starting to feel overwhelmed, two familiar faces appeared at the doorstep. It was Dylan and Marcus, my childhood friends who had once turned their backs on me. They looked a bit worn out, but their eyes sparkled with genuine concern.
“Bella, why are you not receiving our calls?” Dylan asked in an unpleasant voice, “Are you still angry at us?
“Bella, we’re so sorry for what happened back then,” Marcus said, his voice laced with remorse. “We were wrong to accuse you, and we want to make it right.”
Dylan said, “We were afraid that the more people support you on the internet, the more people will begin blaming you. We didn’t mean to hurt you, Bella.”
I sighed, feeling a mix of emotions swirl inside me. I hadn’t forgiven them, but I wasn’t going to turn them away either.
“Fine,” I said finally. “You can stay and help with the preparations. But don’t think this means I’ve forgiven you.”
As the night wore on, the banquet hall began to take shape. The tables were set, the decorations were in place, and the aroma of delicious food wafted through the air.
Dylan and Marcus bid their farewell to come back with their respective packs. I noticed Marcus’s purse still laying inside. I rushed to give it back to him when I heard Dylan and Marcus talking to Amy on speaker.
“How long do you want us to pretend, Amy?” Dylan asked, his voice laced with annoyance.
“Yes, we are already tired of showing fake expressions of love and care in front of Bella when the person in our heart is only you. We can’t do it anymore,” Marcus said, his voice loud and agitated.
I stood frozen, my hand still holding Marcus’s purse, as I listened to their

I felt a surge of anger and hurt as I processed their betrayal. How could they do this to me? How could they pretend to be my friends, to care about me, when all along they were just using me?
I took a deep breath, trying to calm myself down. I didn’t want to confront them, not now, not when I was still reeling from the shock.
“Thank you Dylan and Marcus. I don’t want Bella to feel that I snatched their mates from her. This way she will be even more jealous than before. I can’t afford that, she is still my Alpha.” Amy’s voice sounded, her voice laced with regret and guilt which was nothing but a facade to gain sympathy from my
two mates.
I smiled ironically, looking at my two mates. Maybe they deserved each other. I quietly turned around and walked back to the banquet hall, still holding Marcus’s purse in my hands.
I didn’t forgive them, but didn’t bother confronting them. They owed me too much in my previous life. There was no way to settle the grudges. I just wanted to never see each other again in this life.

On the day of the banquet, a lot of celebrities gathered. Amy also entered the venue in a high–end dress behind my two mates. She looked at the luxurious banquet hall with jealousy in her eyes. Her gaze fell on my extravagant gown, a gift from a mysterious person. Dylan recognised the dress at first glance. He couldn’t help murmuring in surprise, “It’s the same dress that I failed to get in the auction. How did you get it, Bella? I heard a very powerful personality has won the bid for this gown.”
I didn’t feel the need to explain them. I just smiled faintly before I said, “You must be mistaking it with some other dress. How can I afford such an expensive dress? It must be the duplicate, being sold at cheap prices.”
“Bella is so lucky.” Amy muttered, “Even the cheap copy of a masterpiece looks so exquisite on you that my masterpiece design, gifted by Dylan, looks dull in front of your gown.”
“Can I touch its fabric, Bella?” She asked, her hands reaching out to my
gown, “I’ll have someone tailored the same dress as you… Oops.”
A glass of red wine slipped through her hands and spilled on my chest. Out of wetness, the thin fabric of my off white gown began revealing my breasts from the inside, even my bra couldn’t hide them properly. I immediately

A glass of red wine slipped through her hands and spilled on my chest. I immediately wrapped my hands around my chest as I spat, “What’s wrong with you, Amy? How could you-”
“Dylan, Marcus… I–I didn’t do it purposely. The glass… it slipped through my hands. Can you please tell Bella, I didn’t intend to ruin her dress?” She muttered while hiding behind my mates.
“Do you think I’m going to buy your words, Amy? Do you think I didn’t see the jealousy in your eyes just because I wore a better dress than you?” I yelled. I couldn’t control myself, not because she had ruined a very expensive dress, but because she had spilled the drink at a very improper place, making me feel uncomfortable in the crowd.
“Stop it, Bella,” Dylan said in Amy’s defence, “You have no right to accuse Amy like that.”
“Dylan is right. You just said it’s a cheap copy of a masterpiece. Why would Amy be jealous of your dress while she is wearing a very expensive dress herself?” Marcus to join them, “In fact, you are jealous of Amy’s dress. That’s why you are taking it out on her.”
