Chapter 7
The next day, Dylan and Marcus visited my pack again. But, not for me. I happened to visit Pack’s beta’s home for Pack’s business which was situated beside Amy’s home. When I was coming out of my beta’s home, I smelled two familiar scents emerging from Amy’s home.
I couldn’t help following the scent only to find Dylan and Marcus at Amy’s home. Her windows were half opened and half closed, enough to peek inside.
As I peeked through the window, I saw Dylan and Marcus sitting on the couch, laughing and chatting with Amy. She was beaming with happiness, her eyes sparkling with excitement.
Dylan was holding her hand, his fingers intertwined with hers, while Marcus was sitting on the other side of her, his arm draped casually over her shoulders.
I felt a pang of hurt and betrayal as I watched the scene unfold before me. How could they do this to me? Hadn’t they promised to always be there for me? Now, they were not only neglecting me in Amy’s presence but had started secretly meeting her at her home, without telling me.
Amy was giggling at something Dylan had said, her face tilted up towards him. Marcus was smiling at her, his eyes filled with adoration. A lot of gifts were scattered on the centre table, and I could see Amy’s eyes sparkling with greed and seduction.
“This dress is designed by Rober D’sena, a first class designer in our kingdom who never repeats his design. I have bought this dress for you so that you stand out in the freshers party of our university, looking superior to everyone,” Dylan said excitedly.
“Dylan, you are so sweet,” Amy said while placing a soft kiss on his cheeks, “This dress is so pretty. I’m sure it would have cost you millions.”
“It’s worth five million dollars,” Dylan said proudly, “I barely managed to win the bid in the auction. Just for you. To be honest, I wanted to buy you another dress, more beautiful than this one, but a mysterious person won that bid from
me,”
“You can lose to anyone but not me,” Marcus smirked at Dylan‘ before turning to Amy as he said, “I told you, Amy, that I will give you the best gift after you pass the entrance exams and here it is,”
Marcus presented a diamond necklace in front of Amy before saying, “It’s

world. I bet if you wear this necklace in the freshers party, everyone will die of
envy.”
*Thank you so much, Marcus.” said Amy, immediately picking up the necklace from his hands before adding in a pretentious grief, “I have never worn such expensive accessories. I thought I would be looked down on for being poor in my new university as well, and my classmates would take me as Bella’s maid like my schoolmates. Thank you so much for being so thoughtful
about me.”
Dylan and Marcus exchanged a glance before starting to coax her, making promises of protecting her and shielding her from everyone. The promises they made to me years ago were now given to someone else, and I couldn’t help smiling ironically watching the scene unfold.
After they finished coaxing her and presenting several gifts, Amy suddenly said in a saddened voice, “Dylan, Marcus! I don’t think I should take these gifts from you. You two are Bella’s mates. I’m sure she will not like it if she hears that you have gifted me these expensive items.”
She immediately wrapped them and added, “How about you give these gifts to her? I’m fine with Bella’s second hand clothes. There are so many dresses she doesn’t like. She would give those to me before leaving for university. I can manage with them. I don’t want to ruin her mood. If she finds out you two have gifted me these expensive dresses, she would scold me in private. After all, she is my Alpha.”
I was stunned to the point of freezing. I had never expected Amy to be playing behind my back like this. In my previous life, I thought she misunderstood my friendship for charity and that’s why kept hatred towards me. But today I realised, she was just making others feel that she was living off charity.
Every time I bought a dress for myself, I would buy the same dress for Amy as well, just to not make her feel inferior to me. I even asked her to wear the same dress as me. But, she always refused by making several excuses, would wear them on occasions that occurred later, and the dress would always appear defective. Sometimes, it would be torn somewhere and sometimes the colour would appear faded, and when I asked her about it, she would make silly excuses such as she tripped and the clothes got torn or she washed them before wearing and the colors faded. Though it sounded weird to me, I didn’t dwell on the matter. Now I realized why she was doing those things.

was wearing my cast–off clothes. I clenched my fists angrily. But, I waited to hear my mates‘ response. As expected, they immediately bent on their knees in front of Amy, coaxing and comforting her.
“Why would you wear Bella’s second hand clothes? You are not inferior to her, Amy. You deserve everything equal to her,” Dylan said. I could feel the agitation in his tone as he added, “You have put so much effort in getting a seat in the university. You definitely deserved it.”
“Dylan is right. You don’t need to be dependent on Bella’s hands–down. We both are here to always support you. We will not let Bella or anyone make you feel inferior. You have got our back, Amy.” Marcus added while taking Amy’s hands in his, “We are even planning to give you the new model of Lamborghini, much better than the car Bella has.”
