“What else should I think?” He let out a scoff, lowering his head to sink his teeth into the cur breath.
I struggled hard, my voice on the verge of breaking. “Harlan, can you stop acting insane?”
His strengths was overwhelming I couldn’t break free. A deep sense of despair welled up inside me.

me to this?“
“Charlene, you’re nothing but cheap, he went on. “You’ll be with anyone for money, won’t you?”
He grabbed my face, his tone dripping with humiliation. “Then how about this! I’ll give you 300 thousand dollars, and you’ll be with me.”
With that, he moved in to kiss me. I quickly lifted my knee, barely managing to stop him.
Locking eyes with him, I enunciated every word clearly. “Harlan, I am no one’s mistress.”
He let out a mirthless laugh, his amusement tinged with fury. He forcefully pinned my leg down, his rough movements sending another wave of pain through my already injured ankle.

sweat beaded at my temples. He sneered, ‘So you’ll be with Ashton for money, and you’ll even seduce my father’s bastard, but you refuse to be with me? Do you hate me that much?”

As soon as he finished speaking, he ignored my resistance and lowered his head again. With nowhere to escape, I turned my face away at second, and his lips landed on my cheek instead.
Harlan let out a low, hoarse chuckle. “Impressive Charlene, you’ve really got guts.
He’s really full of madness.
Annoyed beyond belief, I took advantage of his brief lapse in focus and yanked my hands free. My wrists were swollen a grip.

Harlan was really my nemesis–nothing ever went right whenever he was around.
I shoved him away, flung the car door open, and was just about to get out when he grabbed me again.
I couldn’t see his expression, but I could feel his hostility. Not wanting to get tangled up with him any further, I quickly said. “I did everything you said–apologizing to Tamara and buying the cake. Harlan, remember to transfer my bonus on time,”
His movements noticeably stalled. After a brief silence, he gritted his teeth and spat out, “Fine.”
I let out a quiet breath of relief and tried to get out of the car again. But his grip hadn’t loosened in the slightest. I turned back to look at him, only to find his gaze fixed on me. Neither of us said a word.
The stalemate didn’t last long–Harlan’s phone started ringing.
From the distinct ringtone, I could tell it was Tamara again.
Harlan pressed his lips together slightly before finally letting go of my wrist. I wasted no time and got out of the car immediately. Just as I was about to leave, I heard Tamara’s soft voice over the phone. “Harlan, are you leaving me!”
I didn’t bother to listen to Harlan’s response. All I wanted was to get out of there as soon as possible.
Since my ankle was twisted and I couldn’t drive, I had to call for a chauffeur service instead.
On the way home, I stopped by a pharmacy to buy some ointment. The pharmacy owner glanced at my foot and commented, “That swelling looks pretty huil Ointment alone probably won’t help–you should go to a hospital;”
I gave him a polite smile. “Alright, I’ll go check it out later. Thanks,”
Hack at horrar. I sat down and stared at my badly swollen ankle for a long time. It did look quite serious–1 should probably go to a different hospital
