Because she knew–at the time, Jared’s heart and mind belonged only to Karin.!
Even with evidence, he might not have believed her.
Because love is blind, and Carrie hadn’t dared to gamble on such a cruel reality
So she had kept it, waiting for the day Jared would find the truth himself when it would hurt the most
The recording ended, leaving the room in suffocating silence.
Karin clutched her ears, shaking her head wildly. “No! It’s fakel Brother Jared, please believe me! Someone is trying to frame me!” Jared’s mother let out a sharp, mocking laugh. “Even now, you refuse to admit the truth? Do you think someone like you deserves to marry into the Dalton, family?
Jared sat frozen, his face drained of color.
Slowly, he turned to Kanin, his gaze filled with disgust.
“I wrongly accused Carrie…” His voice trembled, thick with regret. “I humiliated her in public. I hit her. I locked her up and forced her to reflect, and because of me, she fell sick and was hospitalized. She did nothing wrong
“It was me. I was the one who wronged her.” His voice cracked. “I have to find Carrie. I have to apologize to her!”
Ignoring the searing pain that shot through his body, he shoved away his hands trying to restrain him.
With nothing but desperation fueling him, he stormed out of the hospital without looking back.
Behind him, Karin collapsed to the floor, wailing.
Jared’s mother coldly instructed the bodyguards, “Take her away. Lock her up in the Dalton estate.” But Jared didn’t care.
All that mattered was finding Carrie.
Despite his injuries, he searched for her relentlessly, dragging his weakened body across the world.
His first stop was in the United States, then Canada–places Carne had once mentioned in passing. He was certain she could be there
But every search ended in disappointment!
12:01 PM m
Determined, he expanded his search to South America, using his network to seek any trace of her.
If Carrie truly wanted to disappear, she would hide in the most unexpected place.
So he reversed his thinking and tried searching where no one would suspect
Three days and three nights passed, and still, he found nothing.
Worse, his condition had deteriorated.
His wounds, left untreated, had become infected–festering, bleeding, rotting away at his flesh.!
The bodyguards pleaded with him to seek medical attention.
“Sir, you need to be hospitalized,” they urged.
Jared only shook his head.
“If I can’t find Carrie, what’s the point of surviving?”
Ignoring their protests, he set off for Europe, determined to continue his search.
It was in Germany where he finally caught a break.
After tireless searching, he located the hospital where Art was being treated.
Elated, he pushed his battered body forward, limping his way to the ward.
But fate was cruel.:
Just one day before he arrived in Germany, Carrie had left–with Art–returning home
He had missed her by a single step
