Never stopped loving him..
Jared let out an unexpected laugh.8
“But you were once my fiancée
Came’s voice remained calm. “Your fiancée should be Karin. Now that your mother has stopped interfering, you should have already married her and gone on your honeymoon. Mr. Dalton, we are not in a relationship where we can meet and reminisce about the past.“%
Since Jared had found her, she would tell him, tell Art, and most importantly, tell herself–the whole truth.!!
“Jared, I only approached you because of the contract with your mother. At the time, Art was seriously ill, and your mother promised me the best doctors and the best treatment available. I had no choice but to accept.”
“I told you I liked you because I had to. I was jealous of you, risked my life for you–but it was all to fulfill the contract. That contract is over. I have settled everything with your mother, and I have nothing to do with you anymore.
“1 am returning to my normal life, and I will soon marry Art. Everything is finally on track. I don’t want to see anyone from the Dalton family again. I hope you understand.
She spoke with such composure, her expression so indifferent, as if their past had meant nothing to her.
Jared clenched his fists. She may understand herself, but who would ever understand me?
He lifted his gaze again, his voice sharp. “Carrie, I’m not engaged to Karin. I love you. You are the only person in my heart. Can’t you understand that?”
“This has nothing to do with me,” she replied, unwavering. “I don’t understand, and I don’t want to. Please respect yourself.”
Came tightened her grip on Art’s hand and gestured toward the door. “We’re closing up. Please leave.“)
Jared’s expression turned ice–cold. His voice was clipped and firm “Restrain Art. Take Miss Dean home“]
The bodyguards surged forward. Art barely had time to react before his grip on Carrie was forcibly broken
“Don’t touch him!” Carrie screamed. “Jared, let go! I won’t go back with you! You have no right to take me! This is illegall”
Jared ignored her protests. He bent down and swept her into his arms.
Carrie fought back, pounding her fists against his shoulders, but he remained unmoved.
Then, suddenly, her body slackened.
Her vision blurred, and everything went black.)
Art’s furious voice rang out. “You monster! Put Carle down! She’s bleeding–she’s pregnant!”
Jared froze, his body going rigid.
His gaze dropped to the floor, where a few drops of blood stained the ground. His eyes traveled to Carrie’s legs, where streaks of crimson trickled down her calf.
“Carrie… you’re pregnant?“}
Panic seized him.
He gently set her down, but her face was ghostly pale, her closed eyes framed by beads of cold sweat.
Never in his life had he felt terror like this.
“Call an ambulance! Get her to the hospital–now! B
Art broke free from the bodyguards and rushed forward, pulling Carrie into his arms. “Carrie, stay with me. I won’t let anything happen
to you.”
Jared spun around, his hands trembling, still slick with blood. “Get the car! Call the hospital
Art shoved him aside and, without hesitation, scooped Carrie up and ran
Jared stood frozen, watching her limp hands dangle lifelessly.
And for the first time, panic truly settled in.X
He had hurt her again.
