Chapter 7
Hearing this, the woman became a little excited.
“No… Impossible! That night…”

Before the woman could finish, I interrupted her in a deep voice, “This lady.
“You keep saying that it’s Raymond who doesn’t want to take responsibility, but what evidence do you have to prove this? Just your empty words?
“The relationships in the Brown family are complicated. No matter what your purpose is, I advise you to think it through and be careful with your words and actions.”
“I am… not…”
She finished speaking, and her face froze, and she suddenly felt a little uneasy.
The woman subconsciously wanted to refute, but she didn’t know how to start.
It was obvious that her mental quality was still not strong enough.
Just a few words broke through her inner defenses.
Chapter 7
She didn’t expect me to show up so suddenly and had no words prepared.
Seeing that the situation could no longer continue, the woman snorted coldly and fled away.
There was a sudden low laugh in my ear, and the hand on my was withdrawn.
“Good job. I didn’t expect you to be so good at bluffing.”
I glared at him unhappily.
“I just hope I didn’t help the evil.”

Raymond smiled slightly and said solemnly, “You can see it too. It’s just the most despicable method.
“Our family has complicated relationships to begin with, and I can guess who is behind this. They just want to ruin the marriage between our two families. But they just don’t know how to choose the right person. They are so timid.”
As he spoke, he stretched out his hand and nodded slightly.
“Hello, nice to meet you. I’m Raymond Brown, your fiancé.”
I gently held his hand back, speaking calmly.
“I’m Bella Moore, your fiancée.”
Raymond and I gently held hands.
His palms were warm and strong, conveying an inexplicable sense of security that didn’t make me feel uncomfortable at all.
I nodded slightly in response to his self–introduction.
“Bella, nice to meet you.”
Raymond’s voice was low and magnetic as if it could easily make people take off their guard.
I gently pulled my hand back with a faint smile. “Me too, Mr. Brown.”
The air around us seemed to freeze at this moment. We looked at each other, feeling inexplicably awkward and at a loss.
After a moment, Raymond was the first to break the silence.
“I’m really sorry for what happened just now.”
I shook my head to show that I didn’t mind.
“In such occasions, it is inevitable that some unexpected events will occur. However, Mr. Brown, you don’t seem to be very good at dealing with this kind of ambiguous relationship, right?”
Raymond smiled bitterly and shrugged helplessly, “Indeed, I am usually busy with the family business, and I am a little at a loss as to what to do with this kind of ‘emotional entanglement‘. However, I really thank you today. If you hadn’t shown up in time, I might not have known how to end it.‘
I smiled but thought to myself, “Raymond seems inexplicably… interesting.”
“Ms. Moore, although what happened today was a
misunderstanding, it can be regarded as an opportunity for us to meet officially. I wonder what you think of our marriage.”
Raymond changed the subject and brought the conversation to our marriage.
I was stunned, then regained my composure. “Marriage is a matter of course decided by the elders. However, since we have decided to get married, I will do my best to play the role of a fiancée.”
He nodded with a hint of appreciation on his face.
“Very good, Ms. Moore, you are indeed a wise person. I also hope that we can work together to face the challenges of the future together.
“Let’s go over there. I’m afraid the elders must be waiting anxiously.”
I nodded and walked side by side with him.
The moment they saw both of us appear at the same time, both elders smiled meaningfully.
