Chapter 103
Nancy was knocking outside the restroom, and Ellie was trapped by Alex in a very compromising position on the sink’s countertop, unable to escape.
Ellie was about to cry, but Alex was unmoved.
The two locked eyes, and Alex asked again, “Tell the truth and I’ll let you go. Where did you hide those paintings?”
Ellie’s eyes flickered briefly before she suddenly frowned and head her lower back. “It hurts.”
“Where does it hurt? Let me see. Without a second thought. Alex let Ellie go, lifted her off the sink, and reached out to check her lower back by raising her dress.
Ellie took the chance to push Alex away and hurried out of the bathroom as quickly as she could.

Nancy had already reached the living room door when she saw Ellie coming out of the bathroom. She turned back, # “Ellie, I didn’t know you were in the room.”
Before Nancy finished speaking, she saw her son strutting out of Ellie’s bathroom. Nancy gave the two a complicated look.
Ellie met Alex’s warning gaze and, with some hesitation, said. “I asked Alex to help adjust the showerhead height.”
“Oh that’s how it is.” Nancy breathed a sigh of relief.
Hearing Ellie’s words, Alex felt a prickly discomfort all over.
Alex suddenly narrowed his eyes, stepped toward Ellie, and asked, “You little ingrate, what did you just say?”
Pointing at Ellie, Alex moved forward, and Ellie quickly hid behind Nancy.
Nancy gave Alex a slap on the forehead, saying, “You rascal, is that how you talk to your sister?”
Alex was left standing there from Nancy’s slap, glaring fiercely at Ellie.
Nancy said. “Ellie’s been through a lot without blaming you. We’ve gained a daughter in the Warren family, and you’ve got a sister for free. Will you ever stop?”
With a dark expression, Alex angrily retorted, “Who the hell wants to accept her as a sister?”
Nancy pointed at Alex warningly. “Ellie is my daughter now, so she’s your sister!”
With a gloomy look, Alex gave Ellie a glance that only she could understand.
His neck veins stood out with anger as he tried to keep his voice alm. “Make me acknowledge her as my sister? Not in this lifetime!”
Ellie saw Nancy was about to lose it, so she quickly pulled her into her room and looked at Alex. “Mom, don’t be mad. Give him some time, and he’ll eventually accept me.”
“Ellie, who the heck are you calling mom?” Alex nearly lost it when he heard Ellie call Nancy ‘mom.” He angrily pointed at Ellie, ready to blow up. Ellie quickly hid behind Nancy again.

Alex clutched his rapidly rising and falling chest, feeling like he might pass out.

After taking several deep breaths to calm down, Alex spoke slow. “Mom, you promised me you wouldn’t acknowledge this relationship, and that’s why I didn’t enlist. Now you say she’s your daughter. Are you messing with me?”
Nancy said. “Ellie has been through so much and even gave up her shares. What else do you want?”
Ellie saw that neither of them would give in. She stepped out from behind Nancy and quietly said, ‘Don’t worry, Alex. I’m just moving back in, and I won’t take any money from the Warren family. Everything in the Warren family is yours.”
Alex clutched his chest, furious, and pointed at Ellie with a look that could kill “Get out of here right now!”
Suddenly, Alex lost his temper and charged at Ellie, grabbing her wrist and pulling her outside.
Ellie gave Nancy a pleading look. “Mom,” she called softly.
Alex’s eyes were red with anger as he gritted his teeth and covered Ellie’s mouth, threatening “Call that again and I’ll shut you up for good.”
When Nancy saw Alex covering Ellie’s mouth and pulling her outside without saying anything, she smacked him across the head.
She yelled, “How could I have a son like you! You dare to bully your sister right in front of me. I’ll smack you so hard if you don’t stop!”
Evan, the butler, had been waiting by the door, Seeing the chaoshe quickly stepped in to break it up. “Mr. Alex Warren, please let go. She is your sister, after all. Don’t hurt her.”
Alex gave Evan a furious glare. “You must be going senile! My parents haven’t had kids in over twenty years. Where would I get a sister from? Shouted at by Alex, Evan stepped back quickly
Todd heard the noise and came up to the door, witnessing the scene. Without hesitation, he raised his hand to slap Alex.
Alex, having learned from two previous beatings, quickly let go of Ellie and dodged his father’s attempt as soon as Todd raised his hand.
Once Ellie was free, she quickly hid behind Todd. “Dad,” she called.
Hearing Ellie call Todd “Dad” Alex suddenly felt dizzy and leaned against the door, breathing heavily
After catching his breath, Alex spoke in an irritated voice, “Ellie, you damn…”
“Shut up!” Todd interrupted Alex, his face a furious shade of blue “Look at yourself! Do you even behave like an older- brother anymore?”
Todd said, “You turned a perfectly good welcome home party into a mess. How is the Warren family supposed to explain this to others? Did you forget how your Grandpa warned you in the study just now?
Alex shifted his gaze from his parents to Ellie, his eyes red.
Gritting his teeth, he said clearly, “Her last name is Thompson, not Warren. She’s not your biological daughter, and I’m not her real brother. She can live in this house, but she can’t call us that anymore!”

Nancy was so upset she kept hitting her chest. “Even though Ellie is not my biological child, she’s still my daughter and your

Nancy held Ellie’s hand tightly. “A wonderful daughter like you makes my life fulfilled.”

As Alex walked down the hallway, he could hear his mother behind him praising Ellie as her dear daughter, making his chest feel tight with anger.
Hearing Ellie repeatedly saying “Mom“, “Dad” and “Alex,” he felt a bit light–headed and subconsciously slowed his pace.
Evan, noticing that something seemed off with Alex’s expression quickly stepped forward. “Mr. Alex Warren, are you okay?”
Alex glared angrily at Evan. I’m not dying!”
Evan was speechless and was forced to step back under Alex’s intense gaze
Ellie escorted Alex’s parents out of the room and into the hallway. Seeing Alex swaying a lot in the hallway, she hesitated and asked, ‘Alex, are you feeling unwell?”
Hearing Ellie called him. Alex turned around, clenching his teeth in frustration, his chest heaving.
Their eyes met, and Alex was taken aback by Ellie’s innocent look and casual words, causing his eyes to redden with frustration.
Ellie, noticing Alex staring intensely at her, furtively added, “Alex calm down. Getting angry is bad for your health.”
With a loud sound, Alex, overwhelmed by frustration, suddenly couldn’t catch his breath and fell backward unexpectedly, his eyes rolling back.
