Ellie spotted Aaron coming through the emergency room doors and immediately shook off Alex’s hand, rushing over to meet him.
Alex winced as his hand smacked against the edge of the stretcher, grimacing in pain. The medical staff glanced at him with raised eyebrows, their expressions a mix of curiosity and judgment.
“What are you all standing around for? Alex growled, throwing an arm over his face in frustration. “Waiting for me to drop dead here?”
The nurses exchanged glances before humedly wheeling Alex into the emergency room.

Haley’s breathing grew uneven as she clutched her chest. “No, that’s impossible! Alex hates Aaron more than anyone. He’s gone after both him and Ellie so many times for me! He wouldn’t do something like this!”
Logan scoffed. “Mr. Warren took a knife for Aaron, and you’re still living in denial? Are you blind or just plain stupid?”
Evelyn interjected with a calm but firm tone. “Haley, whether or not Mr. Warren helps us doesn’t matter. What you absolutely cannot allow is for him to side with Aaron and Ellie.
“Go to the hospital and feel him out. If that doesn’t work, sweet talk him into going abroad with you for a little while. Once Ethan’s case is resolved, you can both come back.”
Logan added. “If you can’t convince Mr. Warren to support us, follow your mother’s advice. If he decides to turn against us, the Owens family wouldn’t stand a chance against him”
