Chapter 147
When Haley heard Alex say that the two injections in the vial could make her infertile for life and lead to a deadly addiction, her face went pale with fear. She shook with terror as she looked at Alex. “You can’t inject me; this is illegal.”
In a burst of desperation, Haley jumped to her feet and ran toward the door. But she hardly took a few steps before two bodyguards caught her and pulled her back, bringing her right in front of Alex.
Haley found herself forced to kneel on the floor, her head tilted back to face Alex and Ellie, her defiance fading into submission. “Alex, you can’t treat me like this; everything I’ve done is because I love you.”
Knowing she had no way out, Haley cried out, grabbing Alex’s pant leg. “I’m sincere about my feelings for you. I was only scared of losing you; I won’t bother you anymore. Please let me go.”
With a swift kick, Alex pushed her away, sending Haley sprawling several feet before she hit the floor with a thud and groaned in pain. As she struggled to get up, the guards forced her back to her knees.
From the start, Haley knew Alex was no ordinary man. He exuded danger and raw energy, yet she had foolishly believed she could control him— she was trying to make a madman submit.
In desperation, Haley screamed and thrashed about. Her gaze turned wild as she shouted, “Is this your way of getting back at me for that little wretch?”
She laughed through her tears. “But the most selfish one here is you, Alex. You can’t love anyone–not me, not Ellie; you only love yourself.”
Alex instinctively glanced at Ellie, holding back his own feelings as he moved closer but dared not approach too much. He hesitated, wanting to explain himself, but the coldness from Ellie silenced him.
Haley followed Alex’s gaze to Ellie, and upon seeing Ellie’s silence, a fleeting spark of hope ignited in her.
She crawled toward Ellie, suddenly changing her tone to one of submission. “Ellie, please save me. Think of the three years I spent with your brother. Save me. I promise to stop fighting with you; “He’s all yours. I won’t bother you two anymore. I’ll even leave the country if that’s what it takes.”
Ellie remained quiet, observing Haley’s disheveled figure kneeling before her, begging for mercy.
With a cool indifference, Ellie replied, “You say you’ve been with Aaron for over three years, yet you don’t think of letting my family and me have peace?”
Seeing the determined look in Ellie’s eyes, a sly glint appeared on Haley’s face; her act of humility vanished. “You all want to ruin me!”
Pointing a finger at Ellie, Haley spat, “Ellie, you are the one who deserves condemnation. If you hadn’t seduced Alex, I would have never gone to your parents.
“Ellie, you have no idea how shocked your parents were when they found out you slept with Alex.”
“Silence!” Alex stepped forward, grabbing Haley by the throat.
“Let her speak. Ellie demanded, and Alex reluctantly loosened his grip.
Haley noticed the painful look in Alex’s eyes as he looked at Ellie, filled with longing, and she burst into manic laughter. “I’ll tell you, that cripple thought he could fight me, only to find I could easily push him down.
“Knowing his daughter sold herself to support him, that pathetic cripple would never find peace in death!
“And your uneducated mother–why didn’t she die with your dad? Your family has ruined me, even if she lives, it won’t be a good life.
“Ellie, you and your brother will never amount to anything; you will just scrape by, living a life worse than death.”
Alex executed a kick that sent Haley crashing against the wall and crumpling to the floor. Blood dripped from Haley’s mouth as she writhed in pain, unable to hurl any more insults.
Alex’s eyes burned with rage, the red showing his fury. “Now you will know what true suffering is.”
“Give it to me.” Ellie stepped forward, taking the blue syringe from Alex’s hand.

“Ellie.” Alex pleaded, blocking her path. “Don’t get your hands dirty.”
Ignoring Alex’s warning, Ellie knelt in front of Haley, her calm demeanor in stark contrast to the chaos. She locked eyes with Haley and said, “Haley, at first I wanted to keep my hands clean, but I’ve changed my mind.”
With a quick move, she uncapped the syringe, expelled the air, and rolled up Haley’s sleeve. Haley was held by the guards, her hands and legs restrained, leaving only her eyes wide with terror and her screams ringing out.
Amidst Haley’s angry shouts, Ellie expertly injected the needle into Haley’s vein, the blue fluid flowing smoothly, her face steady and skilled.
She had only planned to watch Haley’s downfall, but she never thought that even now, Haley would keep fighting, nor spare her parents.
She couldn’t imagine the anger and humiliation Harold would feel if he heard those words. With two syringes, Ellie pushed them into Haley’s body with her own hands.
Rising, Ellie looked down at Haley, who lay limp and depleted on the floor, without the strength to fight back, and she walked away.
“Destroy her face!” Alex yelled as he got up to follow Ellie.
“Ellie, you wretched creature!”
“Ah! My face! I will haunt you even from beyond the grave!”
Standing at the door, Ellie listened to the heartbreaking screams coming from the room behind her, her face blank as she retraced her steps. The innocent version of herself had vanished along with Harold’s death.
When dealing with such terrible people, she had to stand her ground; otherwise, she wouldn’t be able to justify the immense suffering she had endured.
At one–thirty in the morning, at the Warren family’s private airport, the deep winter night felt especially cold, made worse by the pouring rain. As Ellie stepped off the helicopter, she tightened her coat around herself.
The wind blew through her long hair, and Ellie moved like a puppet without a soul, quietly heading toward the airport exit.
“I’ll take you back,” Alex said, placing himself in front of Ellie at the terminal entrance.
Halting, Ellie avoided Alex’s gaze, her eyes staring off into the distance. “While I can’t forgive you, I consider our accounts settled.”
“From now on, I ask you to keep your distance, I will never be part of your world again.” With that, she maneuvered around Alex and continued on her way,
“I acknowledge my wrongdoings.” Alex called out behind her, his voice breaking, but Ellie kept walking. He rushed after her, desperation in his grip as he hugged her from behind.
“Ellie, I beg you; give me another chance.” he pleaded, burying his head in her neck. “When I went to your home, your dad really forgave me. “Before I left, he made sure I wouldn’t go hungry, loading my pockets with peanuts and pecans. I promised to get him a wheelchair; I never expected this turn of events.”
Trapped in Alex’s hold, Ellie struggled to break free. She tilted her head back, staring at the pitch–black sky, filled with raindrops.
She said, “My parents are just simple farmers, taking care of fields and animals… They’re so honest that they can’t see how cruel people can be. Even
