Around 9 PM. Ellie waited for Aaron to come back but decided to head out alone to pick up Joanna from work.

Dressed in a business suit with the collar unbuttoned, he wore an expensive watch on his wrist, but other than that, he had no accessories.
From a distance, he exuded an air of unshakeable tension, his usual cocky demeanor replaced by a touch of something more calculating.

After Ellie left. Alex remained there, leaning against the car and smoking silently, watching her retreating figure grow smaller in the distance.
Not far away, Chris exchanged glances with Barry, finally understanding why Alex insisted on making a detour before heading abroad. They now knew who had the guts to give Alex a gift like that.
“Mr. Warren, the helicopter’s ready,” Chris said, gathering his courage to approach after half an hour.
“Let’s go.” Alex replied, turning to get into the car.

“Mom, wait for me at the supermarket across the street. If I’m not out in five minutes, call the police, Ellie urged, guiding Joanna across the before steeling herself and stepping inside the bar alone.
