After she spoke. Ellie stepped back, making way for Alex’s car to back out. As she watched it slowly move, she turned to head back inside. Just as she reached the entrance of the lobby, there was a loud bang.

Just like that, Alex was visiting the Thompson residence three times a day, making Ellie unable to stay there any longer.
