In the evening. The Thompson residence in West Suburb No. 7.
Alex’s parents were taking a walk with Carlos in the garden at home when they suddenly received a call from the Thompson family. They rushed over in a hurry.
As soon as Nancy entered the door, she felt something was wrong. She saw Alex standing in the hall from afar, like a thief caught red–handed, with his hands clasped in front of him, his head drooping.
Nancy couldn’t help but look back at Todd. Seeing Todd’s face even grimmer than hers, Nancy patted her chest and took several deep breaths.
Jason, did this little rascal make you angry again?” Nancy walked into the living room with a stiff upper lip.
Whitney got up gracefully and politely gestured for Alex’s parents to have a seat. Then she said, “Mr. Warren, Mrs. Warren. we had no other choice but to call you both over.
Whitney continued, “Alex was hiding in Ms. Mosley’s ward, trying to take advantage of the situation to abduct Ellie. We believe it’s necessary to inform you both of this matter.”
Hearing Whitney use the word “abduct“, the muscles in Nancy’s face twitched noticeably. Nancy forced a smile and said. “I’m sorry, Whimney. It’s all my fault for not raising my son properly
Nancy looked at Todd with an embarrassed face. It would have been better if she hadn’t. Upon seeing Todd leaning forward. elbows resting on his knees and face buried in his hands, Nancy suddenly felt like she was fighting a lone battle.
Ellie sat beside Joanna, her brow furrowed.
Wearing military green trousers and a white shirt, Jason sat upright, methodically rolling a string of sandalwood Buddhist beads between his fingers.
Aaron stood with his hands in his pockets, leaning against the windowsill, observing the scene from a distance.
The atmosphere in the living room was heavy and tense. For a moment, no one spoke and an awkward silence descended.
Alex stood in the middle of the living room. Seeing everyone’s sullen faces, he couldn’t help but glance at Ellie.
Seeing Ellie’s furrowed brows, Alex took two steps forward and said, “Whitney, I didn’t abduct Ellie. Everything I said to her
is true.”
“Please call me Mrs. Thompson,” said Whitney.
Nancy and her husband exchanged glances, their embarrassmen almost forcing them to crawl under the table.
Seeing Whitney’s indifference, Alex shifted his gaze subtly towards Ellie.
After a brief hesitation, Alex looked at Ellie with a determined expression. “Ellie, if you don’t believe me, you can ask everyone here.”
Ellie glanced cautiously at Joanna’s face, then at Aaron’s in the distance. “After you leave, I’ll ask. You should go now.”
“No. Why do you ask to leave? I’m here now. Can’t you just ask?“lex said, breaking out in a sweat.
“Alex, go back first, Ellie said, her mind in a daze. She felt like she couldn’t sit still any longer. In her impression, Alex had.

Chapter 201

Joanna, who had been silent, finally spoke up. “Ellie is straightforward and doesn’t beat around the bush. Now she’s lost part of her memory and often has headaches. It’s best if you two don’t see each other until she recovers. Go back.”

Jason handed the prayer beads to Whitney and then stood up. “Since Mr. Warren and Mrs. Warren are here, Alex, you can leave now.”
He paused briefly before adding. Td like to remind you, Alex. If something like this happens again, don’t blame the Thompson family for not showing you any mercy.”
Jason, Alex called out..
Jason turned around and said, “Aaron, see our guest out.”
Aaron walked up to Alex.
Meeting Aaron’s warning gaze, Alex suddenly turned and rushed towards Ellie. He pulled Ellie in front of him, and said, “Ellie, my grandfather has late–stage pancreatic cancer. The doctor said he has at most three months left. He’s already back home waiting to die.”
“You despicable… Aaron threw a punch at Alex.
The Thompson family had been preventing Alex from seeing Fle, afraid that Alex would take advantage of Ellie’s amnesia, to bring up the past and emotionally manipulate her with Carlo kindness. They never expected Alex to blurt it out in front of everyone.
“Carlos misses you very much and talks about you all the time. You keep saying that Carlos raised you, but in his final days. you couldn’t even visit him?” said Alex
Alex was punched by Aaron and fell onto the sofa. He wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth with the back of his hand and shouted at Ellie. “Ellie, think about the more than ten years you lived in my home.
“Carlos is awake less each day. Every time he wakes up, he talks about wanting you to help him take care of his orchids. Although you’ve lost your memory, have you forgotten Carlos top? Can you bear abandoning Carlos?”
In the end, Alex was dragged out of the Thompson residence by Aaron. Throughout the ordeal, Alex’s parents watched Alex get beaten without saying or doing anything to intervene.
Throughout it all, Ellie hid behind Joanna and Whitney, watching as Alex was beaten to the point of bleeding and still going crazy trying to get near her….
“I need some space,” said Ellie.
Hearing Alex still calling her name outside, Ellie panicked and ran upstairs as if fleeing.

When Aaron came back, he saw Joanna. Whitney, and Jason standing at the top of the stairs.
Learning that Ellie had gone upstairs alone, Aaron hesitated for a moment before speaking. “Mom. Uncle. Aunt. Ellie is kind. Alex has the upper hand now, and we can’t stop Ellic.”
“Alex is so cunning. Whitney said angrily. “He knows Ellie’s weakness. He knows her too well.
“Since we can’t stop Ellie, we won’t,” Jason said with a serious expression.
Then he added. “Although Ellie has lost her memory, she is an adult and can make her own decisions. Let’s be clear with her and leave the decision for her. Let her calm down tonight, and we’ll talk about it tomorrow.”
Meanwhile. At the Warren Manor.
After being given a good scolding by his parents, Alex was still able to stand upright in the living room.
“Are you even human?” Nancy asked.
“You hid under the hospital bed and got caught red–handed by Whitney. Have you no shame?” Nancy continued.
“Jason just warned you a minute ago that he wouldn’t hold back you messed up again, and you turned around and hugged Ellie. Are you trying to be a jerk?” Nancy questioned.
Alex, with a bruised and swollen face, was extremely irritated. “Mom. Dad. It’s better to be embarrassed than to let me be single for the rest of my life.”
Alex continued, “Didn’t you see Jason’s attitude? If I didn’t seize the opportunity to tell Ellie, I would never have the chance to bring her back.”
