With a splash, Alex fell into the pond, landing in a rather undignified position,

Half an hour later, Barry helped Alex out of the bathroom after he had taken a shower.
Then, Ellie rebandaged Alex’s wound.
“Don’t just focus on my leg. Feel my forehead and see if I have a fever,” Alex said, grabbing Ellie’s hand and pressing it to his forehead.
This made Barry so uncomfortable that he quickly left the room

After hanging up with Quinlee, Ellie left Alex’s room.
In the hallway, Ellie ran into Layton and greeted him.
Layton walked into the room and saw Alex’s leg half–bandaged. ayton laughed without holding back. “That’s too much. She left it halfway done.”
“She had something important to do,” Alex said gloomily, sitting up to bandage his leg.
Layton offered him a cigarette, but Alex frowned and warned, “I don’t smoke. If you want to smoke, do it outside.”
Layton put the cigarette away. “Even if you disinfect your room hree times a day. Ellie won’t sleep in Itere with you,” he said.

Ellie walked over to Alex’s desk and saw his injured leg in sweatpants. The cuff was rolled up to his knee, with his foot resting on a small stool.
Ellie couldn’t help but frown at the contrast between his formal upper body and casual lower half.
She squatted beside Alex’s leg opened the medical kit quietly, and listened to him switch seamlessly between different languages. Carefully, she used scissors to cut off the messy bandages on his leg.
Alex sat upright, conducting the meeting with a straight face, occasionally glancing at Ellie.
He watched Ellie quietly tending to his wound, with her head bowed docilely, and he casually spun the pen in his hand.
With a soft “click“, the pen fell to the floor beside Ellie.
As Ellie picked it up, Alex leaned over.
In the confined space between the desk and Ellie, their eyes met, and Ellie handed the pen to Alex.
Seeing Alex took it, Ellie felt relieved inwardly.
However, before Ellie could relax, Alex’s lips suddenly pressed against hers.
The unexpected kiss shocked Ellie, making her eyes wide open.
