Ellie said. “Mr. Warren, Mrs. Warren, I never expected that Mr. Griffith’s youngest sister would be Aaron’s blind date. Thanks to her help today, Mr. Griffith finally agreed.
“Mr. Griffith said the surgery can be arranged tomorrow.”
Ellie shared the news that Ryker had agreed to give Carlos a second surgery, and Alex’s parents were overjoyed.
Quinlee stepped forward quietly and said, “Mr. Warren, Mrs. Warren, I didn’t really contribute much to this. I heard that the prayers at Sheahow Church are very effective.
“I’ve decided to head to Sheahow Church tomorrow and spend a month praying for Carlos. As Orion’s fiancée for the last time. I want to do my part for him. It’s also a way to make up for the regrets we both have.”
“Oh, please, Quinlee, you’re so kind,” Nancy said, holding Quinler’s hand.
Upon thinking of her eldest son, her eyes welled up unconsciously. “You’ve been running around with Elle for Carlos‘ sake these past few days. I appreciate your feelings for Orion. Thank you.”
Quinlee’s voice choked as she cautiously said, “Mrs. Warren, I’m sorry. I haven’t been able to let go of my feelings for Orion all these years.”
Changing the subject, Quinlee asked, “Mrs. Warren, may I visit you often in the future?”
“Of course, you’re always welcome here whenever you like,” Nandy replied warmly, still holding Quinlee’s hand affectionately.
As Quinlee left, Ellie and Nancy saw her off at the door.
Quinlee turned to Ellie and said, “Ms. Thompson, are we friends now?”
“Absolutely, Ellie replied gratefully.
Although Ellie had never liked Quinlee’s sapphire–colored contact lenses, Ellie could see from this incident that Quinlee was genuinely trying to help the Warren family.
Maybe it was true what they said. Love extended to those around the beloved.
Quinlee’s attachment to Orion was so intense that even after all these years since his passing, she still couldn’t let go.
“Aaron, since you’re here, stay a bit later and have a drink with me Ellie said as she, Nancy, and Aaron chatted at the
entrance.
Alex, supported by Evan, hopped over to the door.
Aaron glanced at Alex and gave him a meaningful look.
He politely greeted Nancy, pulled Ellie aside to say a few words, and then got into his car and left.
“What did Aaron say to you?” Alex asked as soon as Aaron’s car was out of sight, tugging at Ellie’s hand.
Nancy glanced at Alex’s eager expression, frowned, and then walked through the main entrance.
Ellie studied Alex’s face carefully, then pinched his chin and said “That’s great, Alex. You’re fully recovered.”
Alex was speechless.

Chapter 211
The next morning, Carlos was readmitted to the hospital and underwent a full medical examination that day.
Ryker personally performed the second surgery in the morning and it was a success.
A few days later, Carlos‘ condition began to improve.
Although this surgery could only temporarily control his illness and prolong his life, it couldn’t cure him completely, but no one was giving up.
Ellie had been busy at the hospital for several days. Now that Carlos‘ condition was stable for the time being, Nancy urged Ellie to go home and rest.
Ellie returned to the Warren Manor, took a shower, and fell asleep without even eating dinner.
“Drink your milk.” Alex instructed. After hearing that Ellie had gone to sleep without eating, he had the servant warm up
some milk for her.
Too exhausted to talk. Ellic groggily got up, drank the milk with her eyes closed, and then lay back down to sleep.
Alex sat by the bedside, watching Ellic, who was being incredibly docile. His eyes were filled with deep affection.
He waited until Ellie fell asleep before carefully climbing into her bed. He lay on his side next to her, gently pulling her into his arms through the blanket.
He moved his face closer to Ellie’s neck and whispered, “Ellie, thank you.”
Lately, Alex had seen her heartbroken, saddened, and exhausted over his grandfather’s situation. He ached for her but couldn’t get close.
He continued, “Ellie, if you just give me a chance, I’ll give you everything I have.”
The next morning, Ellie woke up feeling warm. She frowned at the sight of Alex, who was fast asleep, holding her in hist
arms.
She had been too exhausted the night, and she didn’t expect that he had climbed into her bed.
Trying not to wake him, Ellie lifted the blanket to get out of bed but suddenly felt a tug on her waist.
“Ellie,” Alex mumbled in his sleep, unconsciously snuggling closer to her and calling her gently. Ellie froze, struck by the familiarity.
She remembered that since she had arrived at the Warren Manor, everyone spoke kindly to her, but he never did.
He had never treated her gently. He always gave her orders in a mischievous way.
“Ellie, let’s get married, he murmured. It brought Ellie back to reality. She carefully covered Alex with the blanket, got bed, and went to freshen up.
She had to admit that Alex left her feeling flustered.
Although she couldn’t remember what had happened between em, she always remembered Aaron’s warning.
Until Ellie regained all her memories, she wouldn’t give Alex any response.

It was barely eight o’clock when Ellie hurried out the door.

She needed to head back to the Thompson residence before going to the Griffith residence to thank Ryker with Aaron.
She also had to take care of Carlos at the hospital and let Alex’s parents come back to rest.
“Quinlee, are you sick? Why are you coughing so badly?” In the afternoon, while Ellie was in Carlos‘ hospital room, she received a call from Quinlee,
Quinlee had called to ask about Carlos‘ condition, and Ellie could tell from her voice that Quinlee was ill.
“The church is in the mountains, and it’s not easy to get in or out There aren’t any hospitals nearby either,” Quinlee said, coughing a few times.
“Winnie has been so busy these past few days, and I didn’t want to bother her. I’ll ask her to pick me up in a few days, so don’t worry about me,” she added.
After hanging up. Ellie felt a growing concern.
Sure enough, when Nancy came by in the evening, Quinlee’s phone rang again.
But this time, it wasn’t Quinlee. It was someone from the church.
She said that Quinlee had been running a fever for several days and was now delirious. They were worried that something might happen to her at the church, so they called the most recent contact on Quilee’s phone.
“Give her some fever medicine, and I’ll come get her right away Ellie said.
Remembering that Quinlee had mentioned at noon that her sister Winnie was too busy to pick her up, Ellie decided to drive to Sheahow Church alone to get Quinlee.
“You stop right now. Do you hear me?” Alex called Ellie and finally got through.
Hearing that she was on her way to Sheahow Church, he shouted into the phone in frustration.
The call was cut short, and without a second thought, Alex rushed into the changing room, ignoring his injured leg, and came out fully dressed.
“Barry, take some men and head to the Harwood–Jaslands Highway intersection. Stop Ellie,” he instructed, grabbing his car keys and heading out.
“Mr. Warren, your leg isn’t healed yet. You can’t go out,” Evan tried to stop him at the entrance of the living room.
“There’s a thick fog on the Harwood Highway tonight. If she goes up there recklessly, what if something happens?” Alex pushed past Evan and stormed out the door.
Ever since he heard Ellie say she was driving alone to Sheahow Church to pick up Quinlee, he had this strange, uneasy feeling in his gul
