Seeing Aaron going upstairs to find Ellie, Alex quickly stepped forward and yanked Aaron back down the stairs. He blocked the staircase, preventing Aaron from going any further.
He spoke slowly and deliberately, “Aaron, no matter what you do you can’t stop us. I’m taking her to Yorksure.”
“You’re not taking her abroad. Today, I’m taking her back to the Thompson residence,” Aaron said with an incredibly serious expression. He tried to go up the stairs again, but Alex blocked him.
“Step aside!” Aaron, unable to tolerate it any longer, got into a scuffle with Alex at the staircase. Barry and the bodyguards stood in the living room, not daring to intervene..

Seeing the way Ellie and Alex looked at each other, Aaron reluctantly let go. Alex knew that since Ellie had lost her memory, she liked him and trusted him. If Aaron insisted, it would only be Ellie who would suffer.
“Just one week. Whether there’s any result or not, we’ll come back and talk about it.” Aaron set a time limit.
Aaron glanced at Alex before turning and walking away. Watching Aaron leave angrily, Ellie lowered her head, feeling upset.
She knew Aaron was doing it for her own good, but she really wanted to recover her memory as soon as possible. Even if there was just a sliver of hope, she wanted to try.
“Don’t worry. After we return from abroad, I’ll go with you to the Thompson residence. I’ll apologize to Aaron properly,” Alex said gently as he pulled Ellie into a hug.
He gazed in the direction Aaron had left, his eyes flickering with uncertainty.
That night, Alex and Ellie arrived in Yorksure. They checked into a VIP suite at a royal hotel in the city center.
Ellie looked around at the luxurious décor of the room. When she saw Alex placing her luggage in the bedroom, she couldn’t help but ask, “Alex, is this the only room?”
Alex turned around and saw Ellie looking at him with hesitation in her eyes. He put down the suitcase and walked towards `her.
He took Ellie’s hand and led her into the bedroom, saying, “Bringing you abroad already made Aaron uneasy. I can’t let you out of my sight; I have to be responsible for you.”
He added, “I know what you’re worried about. I won’t force you to do anything you don’t want to do. I’ll sleep on the sofa.” “Alex, why are you being so good to me?” Ellie asked as she snuggled into Alex’s arms, wrapping her arms gently around his lean waist.
She felt that when Alex was bad, he could be truly bad, but when he was good, he was so kind. It almost felt unreal, like it wasn’t really him.
Alex tightened his embrace, resting his chin on her shoulder. He closed his eyes, savoring the false warmth of the moment.
He said, “You don’t have to doubt me. I’ve owed you too much in the past, so I have to treat you well. From now on, I’ll only be good to you.”
In this foreign hotel suite, by the floor–to–ceiling windows, Alex and Ellie held each other tightly, as if the whole world had faded away, leaving only the two of them.
The next morning, Alex took Ellie to a private hospital in Yorksure. Ellie finally met the specialist Alex had arranged for her amnesia treatment.
“Send Aaron a video call. Don’t let him worry.” Before the treatment, Alex reminded Ellie to call Aaron.
After hanging up the phone, Ellie began the treatment.
Ellie lay on the examination bed, and Alex held her hand, reassuring her, “Don’t worry, I’ll be right here with you. Relax and
cooperate well”
Forty minutes later, the treatment ended. The specialist said, “M Thompson is subconsciously resisting recalling her memories. Let her relax for a while and try again in three days.

Alex escorted the specialist to the door of the ward. Returning to the room, he looked at Ellie, who was still unconscious from the hypnosis, and then turned to Barry.
A few minutes later, Barry entered with a tall, thin middle–aged man. Alex asked seriously, “Dave, how is her condition?”
The man, whose name was Dave Hammond, replied, “The tests we just conducted show that Ms. Thompson’s follicles cannot conceive properly.”
Alex felt deeply discouraged. He sat on the edge of Ellie’s examination bed, holding her hand. He lowered his head, and no one could see his expression. “I’ve invested over a hundred billion dollars in your research institute, yet you can’t even make a cure?”
Dave replied, “Mr. Warren, we’ve identified a new direction and have started clinical trials of physical therapy and new drug trials. However, we haven’t made any significant progress yet. We need more time.”
Hearing the mention of time, Alex leaned his elbows on the side of Ellie’s bed. He pressed his hand against her forehead.
He wanted to give them time, but he couldn’t. He only had three months. If he couldn’t keep Ellie by his side within those three months, he would lose her forever.
Dave handed Alex a bottle of medicine. “Mr. Warren, this is a newly developed drug. If nothing else works, you can let Ms. Thompson try it.“.
Alex’s gaze fixed on the white bottle in Dave’s hand.
