Chapter 234
Chapter 234
“Ellie!” Alex threw his umbrella aside and rushed towards Ellic.
“Quinlee! Ellie! someone called out.
Alex’s parents and Patrick and Winnie, who didn’t leave the foot of the mountain, arrived first. As soon as they gathered around, Alex and Aaron had already reached Ellie’s side.
Seeing Ellie faint, both of their faces changed dramatically. They simultaneously checked Ellie’s injuries and reached out to lift her at the same time. Aaron was faster and picked up the unconscious Ellie and ran towards his car.
“Get the car!” Alex shouted at Barry and then stopped Aaron. “My car is nearby. Let’s take my car!”
Aaron replied, “No need!”
“Aaron!” Alex grabbed Aaron’s wrist.
Aaron’s face was gloomy. “I’m taking my sister to the hospital. Mr. Warren, what are you afraid of?!”
Their eyes met, and Alex was extremely suppressed, but he couldn’t say a word.
Just then. Ellie slowly regained consciousness. She clutched her throbbing temples and struggled to get down from Aaron’s arms. Looking around at everyone, Ellie shook her head hard to clear her mind.
Her gaze fell on Alex’s hand, which was still gripping Aaron’s wrist without letting go. Ellie quickly pulled Alex away. “Alex, let go!*
Alex’s hanging heart immediately returned to its place. “It’s okay!” Alex stepped forward and hugged Ellie without caring about others. But he couldn’t stop his heart, which had just been terrified and was about to jump out of his chest.
“Alex, let go of me first. I need to talk to Aaron.” Ellie said, pushing Alex away despite her headache and pulling Aaron to the side to talk.
Ellie said. “Aaron, I talked about it with Mom before. Carlos just passed away. I’ll go back to the Warren Manor with Alex first.
Aaron’s gaze fell on Ellie’s hand, which was constantly rubbing her temples, and asked in a low voice, “Is your head hurting again?”
Ellie nodded. “I just remembered something about the night Jason came back at the bar entrance. Maybe in a few days, remember everything
I can
Aaron calmly let Ellie and Alex go. “Be careful. Call me if anything happens.” Watching Ellie get into Alex’s car and leave, Aaron shifted his gaze to Diana. Standing still for a long time, Aaron walked towards Diana.
“I just gave her a gentle push. I didn’t use any force, Lacey said, standing beside Diana and pointing at Quinlee. Quinlee hid behind Winnie. Holding her injured arm, Quinlee said innocently, “Ms. Mosley, there’s no need to explain. It’s really not your fault. The path on the mountain was slippery, and I couldn’t keep my balance. If anyone’s to blame, let it be
Looking at the distant black Bentley secretly, Quinler bit her lower lip hard. She had finally succeeded once by dragging Ellie down from the steep mountainside. She clearly heard Ellie hit her head on something and let out a cry of pain, but Ellie seemed to be fine.
Clutching her painfully aching arm, Quinlee gritted her teeth in anger but dared not speak up. It was a complete failure; she
got injured yet couldn’t make Ellie fall and regain her memory her from going back to the Warren Manor.

“It’s all Quinlee’s fault! She fell and tried to use Ellie as a cushion!” Diana defended, always taking sides based on relationships, not right or wrong. She huffed, giving Quinlee a stern side–eye.
Turning back, Diana saw Aaron standing right in front of her. Startled by the frighteningly dark look on his handsome face, Diana gasped in shock.
Before Aaron could say a word. Diana turned and ran. Everyone’s eyes shifted back to Aaron in unison.
Aaron held back his emotions, and his chest rose and fell obviously. Looking at Diana running away, his eyebrows were furrowed tightly, and his lips were pressed tightly together.
Not far away. Tim leaned against the car door, looking at Diana running away like a hunted dog. He couldn’t help but say, “I bet you anything Diana’s up to no good again!”
Liam leaned against the car door and put on his sunglasses. “Did she steal Aaron’s boxers and hang them on the office flagpole again?”
Tim said, “That really might be possible!”
Over ten minutes later, everyone left the cemetery. Alex held Ellie tightly in the back seat of the luxury car and didn’t let go of her hand. He took Ellic back to the Warren Manor again like this.
Letting Alex lead her upstairs, a headache hit Ellie again. Suddenly, some strange scenes flashed through her mind, and Ellie instinctively stopped. She gripped Alex’s arm tightly, and her face turned pale instantly.
“What’s wrong? Are you feeling unwell?”
Hearing Alex’s concerned question, Ellie shook her head and closed her eyes, taking several deep breaths. It should be that she hit her head when she fell down the mountain, which made her suddenly remember some fragmented memories.
Those fragmented images constantly bombarded Ellie’s memory, making her in a state of turmoil. “Alex, I want to lie down for a while.”
Alex bent down and picked her up horizontally, and then turned and returned to the room. “Did you remember something?” Alex bent over the bed with one hand propped on Ellie’s side.
He carefully wiped away the cold sweat on Ellie’s forehead and stared at Ellie’s pale face intently, not missing any change in her expression.
“I might have caught a cold. I’ll be fine after a nap. Ellie closed her eyes and quickly adjusted herself, not wanting Alex to
worry.
Hearing that it was just a cold, Alex obviously breathed a sigh of relief. He made Ellie a cup of cold medicine and watched her take it.
Alex took the cup from Ellie’s hand and said, “You sleep first. There are still many guests who have come a long way to pay their respects to Grandpa who haven’t left yet. I’ll go and make arrangements.
After reassuring Ellie, Alex went downstairs to handle things. By the time he was done, it was almost seven o’clock in the evening. After the funeral, the already extremely quiet house was even quieter than usual
Dragging his tired body upstairs, Alex heard Ellie’s unconscious sobbing when he got to the door. He quickly entered the bedroom and saw Ellie, in her sleep, reaching out into the air for something. Her face was covered in tears, and she was mumbling something
“Ellie!” Alex knelt beside the bed and gently helped her sit up. “Wake up,” he said softly.

Chapter 231
Ellie was woken by Alex. She slowly opened her eyes and looked at him. The tears in her eyes were still there, but stopped crying.
“Don’t be scared. You just had a bad dream,” Alex knelt beside the bed and held her in his arms, comforting her gently. “You’ve been exhausted during these days of Grandpa’s funeral, Tomorrow, I’ll finish the things at hand and stay at home to accompany you for a few days.
“The materials I bought for making the swing have arrived. But it’s been raining these days. When the weather is fine. I’ll build a swing myself. The swing chair I ordered will definitely suit you. It can seat all four of us,”
In the quiet bedroom, Alex spoke with emotion, but Ellie didn’t respond at all. Alex finally noticed that something was wrong with Ellie.
He released Ellie and bent down slightly to meet her eyes. He asked her carefully. “What’s wrong? Are you still feeling uncomfortable?”
Ellie stared at Alex with a dazed expression. She looked at him for a long time. Then she raised her hand and gave Alex a loud slap.
