Alex said, “This island belongs half to Ditato and half to Yorksure. I’m standing on Ditato’s land, and you’re on Yorksure’s. We’re in different countries, so even if something happens to you tonight, it has nothing to do with me!”
Alex flicked away the half–burned cigarette from his hand, his intense eyes darting between Quinlee and Ethan. Tonight, the only way you two can walk out of here alive is to tell the truth!”
After speaking, Alex gave Barry a look and turned to walk towards the helicopter nearby.
Hearing the screams from the two people being harshly interrogated by the bodyguards behind him, Alex nonchalantly glanced at the incoming phone number, let out a heavy snort, and then turned off his phone.
Meanwhile, at the Thompson residence, Ellie was woken from her sleep by a call from Diana
Diana said, “Ellie, I’m stuck abroad and can’t come back. Winnie has been calling me. She really doesn’t want Patrick to have a falling out with the Warren family because of the Janssen family.
“I know Alex only listens to you. Could you just show up? You don’t have to do anything else. Consider it a favor I owe you.”
After hanging up from Diana’s call, Ellie hesitated for a good two or three minutes, but she finally got up to change her clothes.
In the end, this matter had nothing to do with her. But knowing Diana’s personality, if it weren’t something tricky, Diana wouldn’t have asked for her help. Since Diana was stuck abroad and couldn’t return, Ellie, as her friend, couldn’t refuse.
Ellie quietly went downstairs without disturbing her family. Outside the Thompson residence, a car from the Grant family was already waiting at the door.
The car drove straight towards the Grant family’s private airport. Ellie sat quietly in the car, listening as Winnie briefly explained the situation.
Ellie frowned, thinking. ‘Quinlee is meeting Ethan, Haley’s brother, in a remote rental house?”
Quinlee was from Jinerity. She was presumed dead after falling into the sea but suddenly returned alive to the Janssen family. While, the Owens family was in Jaslands, and Ethan, Haley’s brother, had only been out of prison for a few days.
Ellie wondered when Quinlee and Ethan started interacting with each other. Countless questions suddenly popped into Ellie’s mind.
“Mr. Warren, have the Grant family members arrived?” Barry asked, rushing over to Alex as he watched the helicopter descending to land.
Alex calmly shook out a cigarette and placed it in his mouth. “Any results yet?”
Barry replied, “Both of them are keeping their mouths shut, they refuse to say anything!”
“The them up and throw them into the seal” Alex said, and then turned leisurely. The Grant family had already approached him. Seeing Ellie standing next to Winnie, Alex paused in his motion to light a cigarette. The next moment, both his phone and the unlit cigarette dropped from his hands.
The Warren family’s bodyguards moved quickly, but the Grant family members weren’t slow either. On a rock by the seaside, the Grant family people stopped Barry.

Ellie didn’t look at Alex. Her eyes were on the rocky shore where two burlap sacks, nearly thrown into the sea by the bodyguards, lay weighted’down with stones,
“Mr. Warren, please let my sister gol Winnie stood beside Patrick, frowning deeply.

Alex paused for a moment, casting a subtle look at Ellie. T’m not a human trafficker. Why are you involving me in your search for your sister?”
Winnie became anxious when Alex wouldn’t admit anything. “She called before she went missing and said you kidnapped

Alex gave Ellie another stealthy glance, denying again. “Without evidence, it’s best not to make wild accusations!”
Patrick spoke calmly. “To find out if she’s making things up, Mr. Warren just needs to open those two sacks.”
“What if I don’t?!” Alex shouted, striding to the edge and stepping on one of the sacks,
Hearing the muffled sounds of struggle coming from the sack, Winnie knew Quinlee was inside. Winnie rushed forward, but Alex firmly stomped on the sack, causing the person inside to writhe painfully near the edge of the rocks, and pinned it down again.
Winnie’s face turned pale, and she froze in place, too scared to move forward. She had no choice but to ask Ellie for help. “Ellie, say something!”
Ellie stood still, hesitating and not saying a word. It seemed Alex hadn’t gotten anything out of it. If he had even a tiny bit of evidence, he would’ve made his move a long time ago.
Besides, Ellie and the Owens family were enemies. She never liked Quinlee, who was always stirring up trouble with her Two–faced behavior. If Quinlee really had something shady going on with Ethan, stopping Alex wouldn’t benefit her at all.
Winnie, seeing that Ellie wasn’t saying anything, reluctantly called Diana again. When Ellie got Diana’s call, she unwillingly nodded. After hanging up, she walked over to Alex.
Alex stood silently on the rock, watching as Ellie walked towards him slowly. Alex said, “Did Diana ask you to come!”
Ellie nodded.
Alex casually tugged at his shirt collar and muttered a curse quietly. “I can let them go, but I have something to discuss with you!”
Alex stared intensely at Ellie. Seeing that Ellie didn’t speak, Alex assumed she agreed. He pushed the person beneath him away with his foot and signaled to Barry, who then released the person.
“Thank you, Mr. Warren, for your generosity, Patrick said to Alex politely, and then instructed others to take the severely injured to the helicopter.
Alex brought Quinlee and Ethan here in broad daylight and used his own methods to question them–there had to be a reason. Patrick and Winnie understood this, so when they saw Quinlee covered in bruises, they didn’t immediately react.
From a distance, Ellie watched as the Grant family loaded Quinlee and Ethan onto the helicopter, and then she turned and walked away.
“Let me take you back!” Alex stopped Ellie in her tracks.
Ellie glanced at Alex’s arm stretched out in front of her, and then moved around him and kept going.
“Don’t you want to know why I kidnapped those two?!!
Hearing Alex’s voice, Ellie kept walking. She wouldn’t have come to see him if Diana hadn’t called for help in the middle of

the night. Whoever he wanted to kidnap was none of her concern.
“Don’t you want to know who’s been following and searing you?!” Alex shouted behind her again.
Thinking about the person who had been following her and that bloody package she received at the hospital, Ellie couldn’t help but stop.
Thank goodness you are here tonight Winnie approached Ellie and asked if she wanted to head back now,
Ellie reminded Winnie, “No one stays the same forever. Quinlee has been away from the Janssen family for so many years. You really don’t know what she’s gone through during that time, right?”
There was no smoke without fire. The Grant family was smart, and even if Alex were to let it go, they would definitely get to the bottom of it. Winnie first frowned, and then nodded in agreement.
“Thanks for the reminder. Ms. Thompson. I will definitely find out the truth. If it’s Quinlee’s fault, I’ll personally apologize and compensate Mr. Warren, but if it’s Mr. Warren’s mistake, I’ll be sure to stand up for her!” Winnie said and then left first.
It wasn’t until the Grant family’s helicopter rose into the sky that Ellie calmly looked away. She turned her head slightly to look at Alex, who was standing right next to her. Alex happened to look back just in time to catch her gaze.
