Everyone’s eyes locked onto Ellie. Ellie looked down, standing silently. After a moment, she replied softly, “I won’t see him again.”
With Ellie’s clear answer, Nancy broke down. “Ellie, do you really feel nothing for Alex?”
Ellie spoke quietly but firmly, “If hatred counts, then yes. I hope that in this lifetime, we never meet again.”
Nancy paused, trying to hold back her tears. “I know you’ve been through a lot, and I don’t blame you.” Nancy stared at Ellie and waited for over a minute but still didn’t hear any more words from Ellie.
In silence, Nancy finally left the Thompson residence. Throughout all of this, Todd remained by his wife’s side without saying a word. The other members of the Thompson family were quiet too.
Once Alex’s parents were gone, Ellie went upstairs. Aaron, feeling uneasy, decided to follow her.
Through the slightly open door of her room, Aaron heard soft sobs. He raised his hand to knock and then entered. “Everything will pass, Aaron said gently.
Yet he understood that whether Alex was there or not, his name would always be deep in Ellie’s heart. After living under the same roof for more than ten years, Alex and Ellie knew each other well.
Their complicated love and hatred spanned many years; they had given themselves completely to each other. Now, Alex was locked up for Ellie, having escaped, with his future uncertain, while Ellie was pregnant with Alex’s child.
Such deep feelings of love and hate were forever stamped into their souls. Alex’s obsession made it hard for him to let go, and Ellie found it hard to forget him.
“Aaron, I can’t take this any longer; I can’t get over this.” Ellie cried openly in Aaron’s embrace.
For several days, Ellie sank into despair. Within the family, they avoided talking about Alex.
During this time, Diana called her almost daily to chat, and Nalani visited from time to time to try to cheer her up, but Ellie still couldn’t find her way back to happiness.
It was only when Lacey told her that the Warren family had hired Joseph from Yorksure to provide treatment for Alex, which resulted in Alex’s condition stabilizing, that Ellie finally reacted.
She recognized that guy. When she had suffered from amnesia, Alex had taken her to see Joseph for treatment in Yorksure. If Alex was stable now, it meant that Joseph had successfully erased her from Alex’s memories.
Even if they happened to meet again in the future, he wouldn’t remember her. This outcome was actually quite pleasing.
No matter how beautiful their first moments together were, how precious their past was, or how unforgettable their love- hate relationship had become, they would ultimately remain strangers from now on.
After Lacey left, Ellie finally came down the stairs. She spoke with her family, stating firmly, “I’ve made up my mind–I will have the baby abroad.”
Everyone knew that to save Alex in the past, she could no longer have children. Even when Alex escaped last time and damaged a maternity supply store, his parents thought it was just an obsession with Ellie.
Now, in Alex’s mind, she no longer existed. He could change in prison, and she could safely bring the child into the world. This time, she would live only for herself.
When Ellie shared her decision to have the baby, her family didn’t react strongly, as if they had expected it. “I support you,” Aaron was the first to say, voicing his agreement.

Chapter 261
After experiencing Alex, Ellie found it hard to accept anyone else. Since the child was already on the way, it felt like destiny. Aaron would grow old; this child would be the one closest to Ellie.
Ellie received support from her entire family, but she wasn’t in a hurry to leave. Before going, there was one thing she needed to do. Around three in the afternoon, Ellie told her family she was going shopping and left the Thompson residence.
“Ms. Thompson, why did you want to meet me at the hospital?” At Jaslands Hospital, Quinlee, noticing Ellie looked worn out, couldn’t help but smirk.
Ellie stayed quiet, instead waving her hand towards the street. Quinlee turned, and before she could react, the needle in Ellie’s hand quickly found its target.
Watching Quinlee slowly collapse, Ellie collected the needle with case and called for a passerby to help summon a doctor.
During this time, her life had been thrown off balance by Ethan, mixed with the complications of Alex, leaving her with little energy to think deeply. Alex, lost in his own world, completely overlooked Quinlee.
Whether or not Quinlee was the person Ellie suspected, Ellie would find out soon enough.
“Her family can’t be reached right now, but I’m her friend. You can give me the bill,” Ellie said, asking the doctor to do a full checkup for Quinlee in the emergency room.
After the checkup, Quinlee woke up. “How did I end up in the hospital?” she asked, her voice rising in surprise.
“You fainted by the side of the road, and I just brought you here,” Ellie explained. Quinlee looked at her cautiously, then quickly got out of bed and tried to leave.
Feeling anxious, Quinlee rushed out, forgetting to ask why Ellie had asked her out. Ellie quietly watched Quinlee’s unsteady steps and calmly followed her into the elevator.
“I’ve heard your birthday is in two days. I wasn’t sure what you liked, so I wanted to invite you out for shopping and give you a gift,” Ellie casually said in the elevator.
She added, “I was shocked when you suddenly fainted. I was just about to call your sister to come.” Her words eased Quinlee’s suspicions.
Since Quinlee had her medical exam done while she was unconscious, the hospital kept Ellie’s contact information. The next morning, Ellie got a notification from the hospital to pick up Quinlee’s test results.
When they were at the border, Ellie had given two injections to Haley. Haley might have successfully detoxed for over six months, and the blood tests wouldn’t show anything.
But the other injection Ellie had given Haley was the same one Ellie had been used on. Once injected with that specific serum, a woman’s reproductive system would be completely destroyed, making it impossible for her to conceive for a lifetime.
Ellie’s hands froze as she flipped through the test results, her eyes locked onto the report: [abnormal follicle development, re–examination recommended.]
Grip tightening around the medical report, a wave of devastation flashed in Ellie’s eyes.
No matter how hard Quinlee tried to defend herself, Quinlee was indeed Haley. The one who had secretly told Alex about her pregnancy had to be her.
Quinlee not only wanted to kill Ellie, destroying the child within her, but she also aimed to ruin Alex–creating chaos for the Warren family, the Thompson family, as well as the Grant family.
