Chapter 298
Through the blinds. Ellie saw Quinlee enter Orion’s room, her hands nervously clenching each other tightly.
Today was supposed to be Ellie’s day off, she’d rushed over at dawn when Orion called abruptly. She hadn’t anticipated today would be the day they’d spring their trap
Jason had been incredibly busy and scarcely seen these past few days. His plione call warning her to leave was because he didn’t want Quinler to see her and cause trouble.
But with Orion unable to see and Linda alone inside, Ellie wasn’t sure Linda could handle it. After a brief hesitation. Ellie decided to stay hidden a bit longer to observe how things unfolded.
In the hospital room. Quinlee walked in, her high heels clicking against the floor.
“Where the hell is that Lary girl Linda luding now!” she muttered under her breath. Noticing the ajar door leading to the inner room, Quinler slowed her pare
Perking through the gap, she saw Onion typing away on his computer.
The rhythmic sound of the keys made Quinlee’s heart skip a beat. She thought, Could it be that Orion isn’t really blind and he’s just pretending?”
She glanced at her watch–it was almost noon, a time for family gatherings. Yet, Orion was all alone.
She thought, “It seems the Warren family hasn’t figured out he’s still alive, Otherwise, there’s no way Alex wouldn’t have come to take Orion home for Thanksgiving
Quinler couldn’t see the screen clearly from her distance. Suddenly getting an idea, she pushed the door open and stepped inside. “Orion, what are you working on?”
Onion swiftly closed his laptop just as Quinler approached, her eyes catching a glimpse of some data on the screen.
Quinler’s eyes narrowed. She thought, If I saw it right, Orion is replicating that top–ser
top–secret data. He’s starting to remember.
‘Orion, can I use your laptop to check an email?” Quinlee asked tentatively as she moved closer to Orion’s laptop, only for him to grab her wrist firmly.
You
can’t use this laptop” Orion said, his empty gaze solemn. Quinler sighed with relief, confident that he was indeed blind
“Oh, Orion, didn’t you mention you needed a document done? Have you finished it?” Quintee asked again, eyes fixed on the metallic USB drive plugged into the laptop
She reached out tentatively, but Orion was quicker, yanking out the USB drive and clenching it in his fist
“It’s complete. Orion declared as he wheeled himself back towards the bed.
“Orion, where’s Linda Quinlee’s eyes flickered uncertainly.
“She has the day off for Thanksgiving.” Orion replied.
Quinire stood still, watching as Orion settled back onto the bed to rest. Her focus remained intensely on the metallic USB drive clenched in Orion’s

“Onon, let me get you a glass of water, Quinlee said, placing
With her back to Orion, she quickly dropped a white pill into the glass. Her palms grew sweaty from nerves as she shook the water to dissolve pill before bringing in over to Orion’s bedside. “Here, take a sip before you sleep”
Orion propped himself up and drank a few sips of the water, then lay back down.
Decal to rest now. Please close the door on your way out. Thanks Orion’s tone was cold and dismissive. Quinlee quickly agreed, grabbed her bag, and left the mom closing the door softly behind her.
On the bed, Orion pulled up the blanket to cover the soaked spot on his chest.
Standing outside the hospital room, Quinler silently counted down in her mind. A few minutes Later, she cautiously re–entered the room.
“Orion!” She called out a few times, receiving no response from the still figure on the bed. Quinlee’s tense nerves finally relaxed.
Extracting the metallic Usis drive from Orion’s hand, Quinter exhaled deeply in relief.

When Orion’s face heals and his sight returns, we’ll get married. Once I’m part of the Warren family as Mrs. Warren, I’ll deal with that little bitch
Without wasting any more time. Quinler swiftly left the room.
After she was gone. Orion slowly opened his eyes:
“Orion” Linda said as she helped Orion sit up, having just come out of the cupboard.
Seeing Orion remain silent. Linda cut a piece of savory pastry and fed it to him directly.
She said, “Onion, this pastry tastes just like mom’s cooking. Even though you can’t go back to spend Thanksgiving with the family this year, at you can still enjoy some of mom’s treats. That’s something to be happy about.
least
“Look at me. Orion. I don’t have any family left, but Im so happy to spend Thanksgiving with you. We should appreciate what we have. Tonight. I’ll wheel you out to the balcony, and you can tell me stories under the stars”
Linda carefully avoided mentioning anything she’d just seen about Orion’s work.
Ellie, who was in the visitors‘ area of the hospital room, heard Linda’s uplifting voice and felt reassured as she left.
Around six in the evening, it wasn’t dark yet.
Diana was driving to pick up her third uncle to go to the Grant Manor for dinner. When she drove, she suddenly saw Quinlee sneaking into a cab. Suspicious, Diana thought. “What’s this woman up to on a holiday? Trusting her instincts, Diana turned her car around and followed.
The cab headed towards the outskirts of town, making Diana feel more uneasy. She thought. ‘If we go much further, it’ll be the demolition area. What is she doing out here alone at night?

Hearing Aaron say he had something to deliver and was already at the Grant Manor gate, Diana had to admit she wasn’t home. “Just leave it in my room; 11l be back soon,” she said, watching as Quinlee’s cab came to a stop and quickly pulling over. Aaron pressed on the phone, “Where are you right now?
“I’m following Quinlee. We’re in the outskirts, Diana whispered after getting out of her car.
“Diana, I’m warning you not to act rashly. Send me your location now so I can come get you.” Aaron’s voice was urgent.
Diana replied. “You know how capable 1 am–I can take on eight by myself. I’ll be fine?
“If you don’t send me your location now, I’ll tell Mr. Grant immediately. Under Aaron’s threat, Diana had no choice but to send her location
Just as she sent it, her phone battery died.
Watching Quindre get out of the cab and enter a small bar, Diana ignored Aaron’s warnings and followed her inside.
Trailing Quinlee through the bar and down a hallway, Diana unknowingly y ended up at the back door of the establishment.
Diana exited through the back door of the bar, which was quickly locked from the inside. She found herself trapped in the back alley by a group of masked individuals
