Krista didn’t believe him.
This was a great blow to Frankle.
But he also knew that it was he who had destroyed her trust in him with his own hands, and he could only blame himself.
And this result, he had also rehearsed countless times in his mind, still within the range he could accept
He took a deep breath and his tone became even more determined.
“I will prove that everything I said was true, Krista. Can you give me another chance, please?”
The car had already driven into the underground parking lot and stopped. Krista unbuckled her seatbelt and opened the car door, her voice carrying a hint of weary indifference.
“Hand over the divorce certificate to me, and prove it however you want to prove it.”
After saying that, she didn’t care about his reaction and went straight to the elevator
The topic circled back to dive again, and Frankie fully understood that she had made up her mind to leave.
His hands clenched tightly into fists, the veins on his arms bulging, but he couldn’t vent the pain in his heart. He could only follow her upstairs
After entering the password, there was a beep and the door opened.
Krista walked in with her head down, hesitating whether to change her shoes or not. Her eyes were drawn to a pair of bunny–shaped slippers in the shoe cabinet.
These shoes are exactly the same as the pair she often wore in the old house.
But she clearly remembered that these shoes had been thrown into the trash bin on the day she left.
Why is there a pair of the same style here?
She raised her head in confusion and, after seeing the layout of the room, stood frozen in place.
From the curtains to the teacups, from the cabinets to the wedding photos on the living room wall, except for the difference in room size, all the furnishings and decorations were faithfully replicated from the old house.
Watching this scene that seemed like a time–space distortion, Krista couldn’t help but speak up.
“Why did you renovate the house like this? And where did you buy these identical ones from?”
Frankie looked around; her tone filled with nostalgia,
“I always thought that you would move in with me and start a new life together, but I never expected that you had already planned to leave and leave me here alone. If the house wasn’t decorated like this, I would feel like I have no home. As for these things, they are actually not difficult to find, just need to put in a little more effort.
If it weren’t for the deep impressions of the past memories, Krista might have truly felt some guilt for abandoning him.
She was now too lazy to act in this sentimental scene with him again, and she was also too lazy to change her shoes. She stretched out her long legs and walked in.
“That’s great, it makes it easier for me to translate, and I can leave earlier once I get the materials. It’s very convenient.”
After the reunion, every word Krista said stabbed straight Into Frankie’s heart.
He also finally realized that she was not naturally gentle and obedient, but rather had a sharp–tongued personality in every word she spoke.
She disguised her true self, just to be able to step into his world and to maintain this marriage.
So in these three years, the neglect and indifference she endured, the grievances and pain she hid, were probably hundreds of times more than he had imagined.
