He opened the window and I bent down and
asked, “What’s wrong?”
Then, he grabbed my collar and kissed me.
The kiss was loud and wet.
My face was red.
It didn’t last long. He let me go when I
couldn’t breathe.
He said, “I’m going to class.”
Then drove away.
Leaving me, with my heart beating fast.

I took some time to go see my dad.
I told him that I got married.
I also messaged my mom and went to visit my
aunt.
When I told Samuel I got married to Ben, he
didn’t look happy.

“Congratulations.”
Before I left, he told me to call if I needed
anything.
I felt warm inside.
Back in D.C., I snuck into Ben’s class.
His students started gossiping.
In class, Ben found me in the crowd.
He stayed calm and started the lecture.
I sent him a message:

[Your voice is great.]
[Babe, I miss you, do you miss me?]
[Babe, I’m hungry.]
After my barrage of messages, Ben replied in
front of everyone.
[Stop it.]
I was completely speechless.
That made me blush.
I could never say something like that.
After class, Ben took me to the cafeteria.

want to be a teacher?”
Ben stopped eating.
After a few seconds, he asked, “What did
Samuel say about me?”
I replied, “Ruthless, cold, young and
powerful.”
Ben chuckled.
“And you still wanna be with me?”
I said, “Those were things from the past. I like the you I know.”
“If you are not the best, I’ll accept it, I can’t
be too picky.”
Ben looked at me, “You’re brave.”
I smiled, “If I’m not, how could I win you?”
Ben smirked and didn’t answer.
After lunch I asked him to walk with me in the
campus.
He didn’t say no.
Then, he told me the answer to my question.
“I used to be arrogant, and had no mercy.
“I killed my mom’s family because my uncles.
wanted to take over my family.”
“My mom had a heart attack and died. Before
she died, she called me a heartless monster
and said that she regretted giving birth to
me.”
“All my relatives were scared of me because I
was too ruthless.”
“I suddenly had a conscience and I knew that
I was too cold, so I pulled back.”
“I went to study abroad, then came back as a
teacher.”
