Chapter 5
I let out a cold laugh. “For your affair, Dante!”
His eyes hardened as he glared at me, then he laughed, a chilling chuckle. “What affair? Ariya was just taking care of me.”
I bit my lip, holding back the words that wanted to spill out.
How could he be so shameless?
Just as I was about to speak, a figure appeared in front of me.
“Evidence of the affair?” Nill’s voice rang out, his eyes glinting with mischief. “Does this count?”
He held up his phone and hit play. The

screen lit up with a video of Dante and Ariya kissing at a booth. Passionately.
Nill raised an eyebrow.
Ariya shrieked, her eyes wide with panic. “Who the hell are you? How dare you spy on us!”
Dante’s face drained of color as his eyes locked onto Nill.
He yanked Ariya closer, one hand clamped firmly over her mouth. “Cousin! What a surprise! I didn’t expect you to come all the way here. It’s really been tough on you.”
Nill remained unbothered, his expression like stone. “I know you’re fine, Dante. I’m the one who told Selina you weren’t dead.”
“Really?” Dante’s eyes widened, but he

quickly masked it with a forced grin. “I messed up. I scared Selina. I came to apologize, I promise. It won’t happen again, I
swear.”
Nill’s face didn’t change. He crouched down, picked up the divorce papers, and pulled out a pen from his pocket, handing it to Dante. “Sign it.”
Dante blinked, confused. “Cousin?”
Nill’s voice was ice–cold. “We’re not cousins, Dante. Don’t call me that.”
He leaned in, his voice low but firm. “Sign it, or the Hawke family won’t lift a finger for you!”
Dante’s breath hitched. The panic in his eyes was unmistakable. His earlier bravado had vanished completely.

Without another word, he snatched the pen and signed the papers.
I exhaled in relief and quickly slipped the signed papers into my bag.
I turned to Nill, my mouth opening to thank him, but his gaze stopped me.
“Selina,” he said, his voice gentle, “I’ll go with you to restore his identity, and then we’ll head to the Family Court to finalize everything.”
“I don’t need you to-”
“Don’t refuse just yet. If I’m not there, he won’t agree to divorce. Trust me.”
I stared at him, conflicted, but then nodded slowly. “Alright, then.”

As I went to see off the guests, Ariya clung to Dante, refusing to leave his side.
I stepped into Nill’s car, feeling a sense of finality.
As we were about to leave, Dante’s voice broke through.
“Selina,” he called, desperation thick in his voice. “I really love you.”
I didn’t look back. My tone was cold, cutting. “Don’t say that. It disgusts me.”
