Chapter 9
I contacted the search and rescue team
again.
The team members already knew me well, and as soon as they saw me, they collectively sighed,
“Selina, we’ve told you already–there’s no way we’ll find him. After all this time, it’s impossible.”
I nodded dismissively. “Just make it look like you’re searching. He hasn’t actually gone missing, and I’ll pay you the same regardless.”
For three days, the rescue team combed the area but didn’t find a single trace of Dante- not even a strand of hair.

Ariya, on the verge of a breakdown, spent every day crying. I watched her fall apart without a shred of sympathy.
Back then, it was her idea, and I cried for an entire month, completely broken. Now it was her turn. Couldn’t she last even a few days?
On the fourth night, Dante suddenly appeared.
He rushed forward and hugged me, his voice choked with emotion.
“Selina, I knew it! I knew you still loved me!”
“Otherwise, you wouldn’t have come all this way to look for me for three days and nights after hearing I was missing.”
“I really know I was wrong! It was Ariya’s

terrible idea back then, and now I made her experience what you went through by making her think I was missing. But honestly, I’m so happy you came.”
Before he could finish, Nill yanked him away forcefully, making him stumble backward.
“Dante, stay away from my girlfriend!”
Dante fell to the ground and looked up at Nill, his face contorted with rage as he saw him holding me protectively in his arms
“What do you mean, your girlfriend? Selina is my wife! Cousin, she’s my wife, and you’re my cousin!”
Nill stared down at him, his cold gaze filled with disdain.
“Did you forget? You’re nothing more than a

disowned foster child.”
Dante scrambled to his feet and threw a punch at Nill. I stepped in front of him, arms. outstretched, which startled Nill so much his face turned pale.
Thankfully, Dante stopped his fist just in time.
“Selina! Why are you standing in my way? Are you out of your mind?”
I turned to Nill, whose face was filled with anger, and flashed him a sheepish smile.
“Let’s deal with Dante first. You can scold me later.”
Nill forced himself to calm down,
suppressing his anger.

I looked toward the corner. “You can come
out now.”
Ariya stepped out, her face streaked with tears. She glared at Dante, the love in her eyes replaced with bitterness.
I spoke coldly.
“Dante, do you find it amusing to toy with the people who care about you over and over again?
Do you enjoy watching us fall apart every time?”
“If Ariya hadn’t begged me, I wouldn’t have come–even if you were truly dead, I wouldn’t have looked back.”
Dante’s face twisted with pain. He looked at me, lips trembling.

“She begged you? So the only reason you came wasn’t out of concern for me, but because that woman begged you?”
I slapped him hard across the face.
“You’re right–I should’ve let go of you a long time ago.
And Ariya, no matter her faults, truly loves you. Do you really have to demean her like. this?”
I turned to Ariya. “Whatever issues you two have, sort them out yourselves. Don’t ever show up in front of me again. Just seeing you both annoys me!”
With that, I grabbed Nill’s hand and left for the hotel.

On the way back, Nill scolded me harshly for stepping in front of him like that, and the discussion only ended after I admitted I was
wrong.
Our relationship progressed rapidly after that. It felt like Nill was trying to make up for lost time. By our one–year anniversary, he proposed, and without wasting a moment, started planning the wedding himself.
I didn’t even realize I was getting married until I went to try on wedding dresses.
At the wedding, Nill invited Dante and Ariya.
Ariya, consumed by resentment, confronted Dante. In her anger, she confessed that she had removed Dante’s oxygen mask while he was diving. Though she saved him at the last moment, Dante was left in a vegetative
state.

Ariya devoted herself to taking care of him, but her care was more torment than nurture. Dante grew thinner and frailer, and the two of them spent their lives locked in mutual suffering.
At the wedding, my gaze lingered on Dante’s frail figure for a moment too long, prompting Nill to grab my face and plant a fierce kiss on
- me.
“What are you looking at? I’m getting jealous!”
I laughed, my eyes curving into crescents, and kissed him back.
“I love you Nill!”
The End.

Book 5: My Boyfriend Crosses Boundaries With His Friend’s Wife
After my boyfriend’s best friend moved abroad, my boyfriend took on the responsibility of looking after his wife and daughter. He was incredibly attentive. Not only did he pick them up and drop them off every day, but he also took them out for weekend outings.
One day, my boyfriend had to personally escort Margot Cummings on a business trip, and asked me to help take care of her daughter, Zoe, for a couple of days.
Zoe had an allergic reaction, and my boyfriend even got physical with me.
“You can’t even take care of a child. What kind of teacher are you?” he snapped.

I suggested breaking up, but he shrugged it off.
“Who else would want you if you leave me?”
What he didn’t know was that I had already received an employment offer from Oxford. Ten days later, I would leave.
