Chapter 69
sportswear,
“Hmm?” Hearing a voice, Noelle tilted her head curiously, peering past Damon’s shoulder toward the doorway. Eli, dressed in casual spoi emerged from inside.
Her face lit up with a radiant smile, and she waved at him cheerfully. “Eli, good morning! What are you doing back here?”
“It’s the weekend, so I came home,” Eli explained, though his gaze remained locked on Damon and Noelle, his face filled with disbelief.
“You two…”
Just two days ago, Damon had declared over the phone that he’d rather kill Noelle than deal with her. Eli had assumed the two would be at each other’s throats for the foreseeable future.
Yet here they were, acting like… siblings!
Damon, realizing how “close” he and Noelle appeared at that moment, immediately flushed. His expression darkened as he abruptly shoved Noelle
olf of him
“Noelle, what are you, a monkey! Get off me already!”
“Ow, Damon!
Caught off guard, Noelle stumbled as she was pushed aside. Puffing up her cheeks in protest, she complained, “You nearly pulled my arm off! Can’t you be a little gentler?”
“No, I can’t”
Flustered by Eli’s scrutinizing look, Damon’s temper flared further as he turned to defend himself.
“Don’t get the wrong idea, Eli. I don’t have any kind of relationship with her. She’s just shamelessly clinging to me?”
Noelle’s face fell at Damon’s words. She sidled up to him, her gaze full of mock hurt.
“Damon, how could you say that about me? Don’t I have any dignity?“
“You? Dignity! Don’t make me laugh.”
“I can’t believe how mean you are!”
“You think I care?”
Eli silently observed the bickering pair, utterly bewildered. Their dynamic was… peculiar, to say the least.
Taking a deep breath. Eli tried to mediate. “Damon, Noelle is still a young girl. Can’t you talk to her with a bit more kindness?”
“And why should I? Did you forget what I said about her before?” Damon shot back, his irritation evident.
“Damon, you….!
“I don’t want to hear it,” Damon interrupted before storming past Eli and heading upstairs.
Eli watched him leave, sighing in exasperation.
Guess I was overthinking things after all. No way Damon and Noelle’s relationship could improve in just two days.
“Noelle. I’m so tired. I’m heading to bed. Noelle said, stifling a yawn as she turned to leave as well
“Hold on.” Eli stopped her, his expression turning serious. “Noelle, before you go, answer me. When you stayed at Nicolas’s place, he didn’t… do anything, did he?
Not this again!
Noelle’s heart sank. If there was one topic she wanted to avoid, it was Eli interrogating her about Nicolas
Feigning another yawn, she slipped our of Eli’s reach. Ti so deepy, Eli. Let’s talk tomorrow, okay?”
Without waiting for a response, she dashed upstairs.

Chapter 69
“Hey!”
Ell called after her, clenching his teeth in frustration. Why does she always run away when I bring up
After sleeping through most of the day, Noelle finally felt refreshed.
Right on cue, a maid came knocking to inform her that dinner was ready.
The moment she heard the word “pasta.” Noelle bolted out of bed, excitement lighting up her face.
“Time to cat!”
Downstairs in the dining room, Kimberly, Vincent, Damon, and Eli were already seated.
Hearing Noelle’s enthusiastic shouts, Vincent frowned in disapproval.
“This child has no sense of decorum,” he muttered,
Nicolas!
Noelle burst into the dining room, her face aglow with joy. She greeted everyone with a cl already!”

“Noelle,” Vincent said sternly, “you need to stop running around and shouting in the house. You’re a noble young lady now. Act like one

Though her tone was subdued, Noelle obediently made her way to the table, searching for a seat
Kimberly, however, smiled warmly and gestured for Noelle to sit beside her.
“Noelle, come sit next to me.”
“Okay!”
Grinning. Noelle plopped down into the seat Kimberly had indicated.
Eli, observing the scene, raised an eyebrow in surprise,
“Mom, when did you and Noelle get so close!”

Kimberly shot him a look of mild irritation. “What are you talking about! Noelle and I have always been
Sure, Mom, Eli thought to himself.
Meanwhile, Damon glanced at Kimberly and Noelle before commenting dryly. “Noelle just happens to be good at making pasta. Mom likes pasta. Guess that brought them closer”
“What?” Eli looked at Noelle, genuinely shocked. “Noelle can cook?”
Kimberly beamed with pride. “Not just cook! Noelle is a certified master chef, ba’t that amazing!”
“Hmph, that’s right! I’m amazing.” Noelle said smugly, puffing out her chest.
Eli, who had been away at school, was clearly hearing this for the first time. He raised an eyebrow, impressed.
“Well, I’ll give you that, Noelle. At least you won’t starve to death with a skill like that?
Vincent frowned, his disapproval evident.
“Eli, if you can’t say anything intelligent, just keep quiet. A daughter of the Anderson family working as a chef? What a disgrace!”
Kimberly, however, interjected. “Being a master chef is no small feat. Vincent. It’s a prestigious title!“
“Prestigious or not, it’s still just cooking,” Vincent said dismissively. “Noelle should be learning more refined skills.
Dumon, who had been silently eating, suddenly set down his utensils.
“Noelle’s talent naît limited to cooking,” he said evenly, his gaze sweeping over his family. “She’s an incredible driver. With her skills, she could easily become a professional racer.”

“What?
The rest of the Anderson family turned to Noelle in surprise.
Vincent furrowed his brow. “You know how to race?
Kimberly’s face lit up. “Really? Noelle, you’re interested in driving!”
Eli’s jaw dropped. “Wait, you’re good at racing too!”
Caught mid–bite, Noelle looked up, her cheeks stuffed with food. Her wide eyes darted between her family members, unable to speak,
The room fell into an awkward silence as Noelle continued to chew, her muttled “nom nom noises filling the air.
Damon pinched the bridge of his nove in frustration. “Noelle, can you stop eating for one second and answer them?”
Noelle swallowed her food with difficulty, then replied indignantly. “Wasting food is shameful, Damon. You of all people should know that!”
“Just answer the damn question!”
“Oh, fine.”
Turning to her family, Noelle flashed a casual smile.
“It’s the weekend, so I came home,” Eli explained, though his gaze remained locked on Damon and Noelle, his face filled with disbelief.
“Yeah, I’m pretty good at driving. Actually, I’m faster than
