Logan paused at my words.
“No… no, wife, I just lost my way temporarily. I still love you deep down.”
“Can we reconcile? Didn’t you always want a child? I agree now!”
He pleaded while bowing his head repeatedly.
“Too late, nothing you say will change anything. From the moment you invited me to this gathering, it was over.”
<
“Logan, you never loved me, nor Adeline.”
“You only love money, power, and everything that makes you feel glorious.”
My words pierced him like a knife, and Logan fell silent.
After being kicked a few times by Uncle Felix, Adeline finally snapped back.
She mimicked Logan, kneeling before me, even slapping herself.
“Miss Fiona, please have mercy on me.”
“We were classmates. If I had known you were from the cabinet, I wouldn’t have dared.”
“You like Logan, right? I’ll give him back to you. I’ll tear up the divorce papers right now.”
Adeline pulled out the divorce agreement with my and Fiona’s signatures and tore it up in front of me.
I remembered my instructor’s words during training: People’s survival instincts are innate, and you can’t go soft because your opponent concedes.
I’ve always remembered that.
“Adeline, even if you tear it up, it’s useless. Logan has long been removed from my records.”
Hearing this, both Adeline and Logan’s faces turned to desperate gray.
“Adeline, it’s all because of you that you called Fiona back. Otherwise, we could still be together.”
“Bull, you chased me first. Did you forget how you called me ‘wife‘ in bed?”
“Miss Adeline, do you still know the meaning of shame? If you hadn’t set your sights on me, would I have mixed with you?”
I’ve always remembered this line:
“Adeline, tearing it up won’t change anything. Ethan Johnson isn’t in my records anymore.”
Upon hearing this, Adeline and Ethan’s faces turned ashen with despair.
“Adeline, it’s all because you insisted on bringing Fiona back. Otherwise, we could still be together!”
“That’s ridiculous. You were the one who pursued me. Have you forgotten how you used to call me ‘wife‘?”
“Adeline, do you even understand the concept of shame? If you hadn’t set your sights on me, would I have ended up with you?”
The two of them started arguing right in front of me and eventually ended up in a physical fight.
“Enough! Stop this before you give me a headache.”
“I have plans tomorrow. If you really want to fight, you can continue in jail”
Hearing this, both Adeline and Ethan froze.
“Jail? Why would you send us to jail?”
“It’s just a divorce and, at most, infidelity. Why would that land me in jail?”
Adeline stepped forward to protest.
“That’s right, even though I said I’d find someone to deal with you, aren’t you doing just fine here?”
I moistened my lips and began speaking steadily.
Livet said?“”
“When will this end? Have you forgotten everything I just said?”
“I made it clear from the start that divorcing me would lead to a lawsuit. Did you think I was joking?”
“Now that you know my background, the things you’ve done behind my back are enough to spend the rest of your lives in jail.”
After saying this, I dismissed them and instructed my people to take them away.
As the saying goes, out of sight, out of mind.
Once those two were dealt with, the families of those affluent heirs hurried in.
Each came to sincerely apologize to me, their smiles strained to the point of breaking.
I gave them a few words of criticism before letting them leave.
After all, people need to make mistakes to learn and grow.
I hope these so–called rich heirs from the capital will mend their ways after this incident.
The only ones left in the private booth were a group of former classmates.
At this moment, I already saw them as strangers.
I raised my glass and slowly said, “Everyone, listen up. After this drink…”
“We are no longer friends.”
