Chapter 6
On the eighth day, I was finally discharged. I made my decision: I was going to go back and divorce Damian.
He was dead to me.
I stopped by the legal house to get the divorce papers, and when I walked out, I was holding onto the document like it was my last string of hope.
I hailed a taxi and went back to the house, the house that would soon become history
to me.
The living room was empty when I got in, but I heard voices coming from the first floor. I went up, thankful that my pain had subsided.
The door where the voices came from was
the bedroom I shared with Damian.

couldn’t believe my eyes; Damian lay on top of Ana, and she had her hands around his neck. When they heard the sound of the door, Damian moved away from Ana.
I had spent a week in the hospital, and these two were here frolicking in each other s arms.
“Clara?” Damian called out my name; for the first time in a long time, he called out to me calmly, but now I didn’t care.
“Sorry Clara, we didn’t mean for you to see this; brother Damian was feeling lonely, and I am here to keep him company,” she said with a smile on her face.
I wish I could go over there and tear her face apart.
“shut your mouth” I snapped at her, ana jumped back in fear, she looked up at Damian as if she had just encountered a monster, I was not surprised when Damian held her in his hands as if to comfort her.

He turned his face to me which held
nothing but hatred.
“apologize to her now” he snapped at me; Ana made a face at me, trying to rile me up into doing something that will make Damian hurt me.
I ignored her and looked towards Damian,
“I will give you one last chance” I started, he frowned at me but I didn’t care.
“you know, it has been a long time since you did something good to me” I started as I made my way into the house I was done being pitiful.
“ever since she came along you have never for once treated me right, “I told him, and just as I expected I saw guilt flash in his eyes. he sighed.
“what will people think when they get a gist of how you treat me” I threw at him. Damian was a man who upheld his
reputation more than anything,

“ok what do you want?
he asked me, I
smiled triumphantly when I saw Ana look towards me in surprise, I wanted her to get a taste of her own medicine.
“go out on a date with me,” I told him, my eyes never leaving him, and beside him panicked, she looked from him to me and then back to Damian, she took his hand and shook it.
“Damian, you can’t go to dinner with her, you promised to take me to eat seafood remember,” she said. I saw Damian waver, I laughed at myself, I truly was less than Ana in his heart.

“ok, I’ll take you out if Anna comes with us,” he said, I shrugged and went up stairs to get ready.
A few hours later I came back down to see that both of them had not finished dressing up, I heard Ana‘ s exaggerated laughter coming from Damian’s room but I didn’t care, when they finally came down, I stopped them from leaving.

“I will also need Ana‘ s credit card,” I told them, once againAna‘ ss face widened in surprise, she pouted at Damian but he didn’t look at her.
“give it to her,” he told her, and stamped her feet but she still handed it to me.
We went to an expensive diner, I was surprised, in all our years together, Damian had never taken me anywhere this fancy, I shook my head.
This will be the last time I will be spending time with him. I took the menu and ordered all the expensive things I saw, but when the food came, I didn’t feel like eating them.
Ana made it a chore to point out what I did, I guess she was still mad at the fact that I get to eat at this kind of restaurant.
“look Damian, she ordered a lot of things. but she isn’t eating any” she stated pointing at my side of the table, those two sat together while I sat on the other end

like a third wheel, the waiter even called them a couple and he called me the friend.
“don’t mind her, she’s ungrateful,” Damian said without looking at me. Ana smiled triumphantly, when she saw that I was not affected she stretched her hands towards my side and purposefully knocked my glass over spilling its contents on me, she smirked at her handwork.
“I guess nobody will suspect you to be such despicable people,” I told them, I watched as both of them froze.
What did you say?” Damian asked in fury. I pointed at Ana,
“you are a shameless woman,” I told her, as soon as I got the words out, I was hit across the face, and everyone in the diner turned to us in shock.
“How dare you say that to Ana” he asked,
“because it’s true” Damian got out of his chair, and he pulled Ana with him.

“we are leaving,” he said, Ana turned and smirked at me,
“have fun paying the bills,” she said. When they left, I took out the card I had gotten from Ana earlier and paid for the food, I ordered more and used up all the money in it before I was satisfied. When I got home the house was dark, I went
upstairs to my room and stopped when I heard noises coming from Damian’s room, they were so noisy that they couldn’t keep their voices down.
I went around the house, picking my things, today was my last night in this house.
