Time passed, and I gradually grew accustomed to living with Simon Parker. Since that night at the hotel, we had been sleeping in separate rooms.
As for Alan Simpson, I never heard from him again. I heard he was sentenced to fifteen years. Alice Mitchell also had her baby, a daughter.
It was a blow to the Simpson family’s hopes, especially after Alice had spent a fortune on an underground clinic to find out the baby’s gender. Now, Mrs. Simpson came to my doorstep every day, waiting for me.
But Simon Parker always found ways to send her away.

Soon enough, the news of my situation spread through the company. I decided to quit and take it easy at home. After all, Simon Parker had money; he would buy groceries and cook for me.
I slept for three days straight. Then Simon Parker handed me a bank card and told me to go out and have some fun.
He was generous, so I didn’t hesitate. I made plans with Lucy to go shopping.
The two of us bought a lot of things, and after getting tired, we sat down at a nearby café to rest.

I couldn’t believe it–Simon Parker, that quiet, mysterious man, had posted on News Feed.
There it was: a picture of our marriage certificate, and the comments were going crazy.
I shrugged awkwardly.
“Yeah, but how do you have Simon Parker’s Facebook?”
Lucy covered her mouth and laughed.
“Oh, my husband and he are business partners. We often hang out together.”

When I got home, Simon Parker was on the balcony, smoking.
When he saw me, he walked over.
“What did you buy?”
I excitedly showed him my haul from the day, pulling out a shirt from my shopping bag to give to him.
Simon Parker froze for a moment, staring at me in disbelief.
“You bought one for me?”
“Yeah, I thought this color would look perfect on you.”

“Quit smoking, it’s bad for your health.”
He looked at me, giving a soft hum of acknowledgment.
The shirt fit him perfectly, though the sleeves were a bit short. I was thinking of returning it, but Simon Parker refused to let go,
even taking it to bed with him like a prized possession.
The next day, he wore it to work, and when he came back, he was in high spirits, as if he’d just had a pleasant encounter with the spring breeze.
My mom always said men loved to show off.
That evening, Simon Parker made a feast.

Then I got so drunk I passed out.
When I woke up, Simon Parker and I were both naked, holding each other. I strongly suspected that he had purposely gotten me drunk to take advantage of me.
