Chapter 7
At Dilan’s request, I went to the detention. center to see Isana.
Her complexion was rosy, and she didn’t appear to have suffered at all. In fact, she proudly puffed out her belly to flaunt it at me.
“Dad already told me. The Wilcher family will protect me, and my child will be the only heir to the Wilcher family. Wynette, you’ve lost to me again. Even if you marry Homer, you’ll just be a widow.”
A malicious smile spread across Isana’s face. “Anyway, you can’t have children, so becoming a widow is your fate.”
I couldn’t help but laugh. Isana glared at me. “What are you laughing at?”

“I’m laughing at how stupid you are, sister.” I leaned closer, speaking each word deliberately. “Let me tell you something. I never wanted to marry Homer.”
Isana scoffed. “You’d never let go of Homer just because of his wealth. Stop lying.”
“I’m not only not marrying him, I’ve never slept with him, because he has… AIDS.”
I watched as the smile on Isana’s face vanished, replaced by sheer panic.
“Impossible! You’re lying. You have condoms in your bag!” Isana shook her head vigorously.
“Did you not notice they’re still sealed? They were just in case. Anyone who’s gone to school knows AIDS can be transmitted

sexually. And…” I looked at her belly. “It can be transmitted from mother to child.”
“Impossible…” Isana muttered, her voice faltering.
I stood up, towering over her.
She only saw Homer wanting to marry me, but she didn’t know about Homer’s many women. Especially after he went to college, anyone he took an interest in, he would find a way to sleep with.
Whenever something went wrong, the Wilcher family would settle it with money.
Until one girl committed suicide. Her sister, seeking revenge, deliberately approached Homer, slept with him, and infected him with AIDS.

Yet, such a rotten man never touched me after finding out he had AIDS.
Back in high school, Homer didn’t shy away from tormenting me in bed.
The reason I can’t have children is also
because of him.
“Why didn’t you say anything before?” Isana fixed her gaze on me, anger in her eyes.
I smiled faintly. Of course, it was intentional.
Despite all my efforts to avoid Homer, he still found me.
Three years apart, and it seemed Homer had become even more obsessed.
He said that even if I died, I had to die in his bed.

Just days before my mother’s memorial, I saw Isana’s post on social media–pictures of Dilan buying gifts for Yamila.
I returned home under the pretext of visiting my mother’s grave, and of course, Homer insisted on coming with me.
Isana had always been jealous of me, always trying to steal what was mine. There was no way she would just stand by and watch me marry a rich man.
Sure enough, they made their move, just like how her mother climbed into my father’s bed back then. She couldn’t wait to climb into
Homer’s bed.
Unfortunately for her, Homer didn’t touch her.
I hadn’t even decided how to create the

right opportunity for her, and yet she did something that utterly blew my mind.
She stole Homer’s sperm and impregnated herself.
Now she was carrying his child.
“Enjoy your future days,” I said softly to Isana.
“I’ll kill you!” Isana lunged at me.
I took a step back, avoiding her, and said to the guard, “My sister has a contagious disease. You should be careful.”
The guard quickly pulled out his baton and restrained Isana without even touching her.
As Isana’s screams echoed, I walked away with a sense of satisfaction.
