Chapter 90: Bleach
JULIA
Evan and I looked at Andy with wide eyes. I cleared my throat and carried him in my arms. I sat back down on the couch and placed him on top of my lap.
“What do you mean by that, bub? You want me together with Heath?”
“Yes, Mr. Heath!” he exclaimed, holding his plushie tighter “He said he has a lot of cars.”
Evan cleared his throat and scooted closer to us, his eyes wide like a little kid.
“I have plenty of cars, too, Andy,” he said, wanting to be acknowledged.
However, Andy brushed him off.
“He also has the same color of hair as my favorite color–yellow!”
Evan pursed his lips. “Do you want me to dye my hair? I’ve been thinking of going blonde these days.”
I chuckled. However, my smile quickly fell when the sight of a blonde Evan came to mind. It was definitely…. dangerous. The light hair would compliment his features well.
“And he laughs with me a lot,” Andy muttered.
Just then, Evan let out a big laugh, earning stares from both Andy and me.
“What are you doing?” I asked
Evan chuckled, scratching the back of his neck. “I just find our son hilarious.”
Andy pursed his lips and wrapped his arms around my neck “Can’t we sleep?”
I nodded and stood. “I think it’s best if we rest now, Evan.7
“You can stay here,” Evan quickly said. I glanced at the clock and saw it was pretty late, so I was going to agree. However, Andy tightened his hold around me.
“I miss my bed,” he muttered.
Evan heard it, too, and pursed his lips. “I’ll take you home, he proposed instead.
I softly smiled. “Thanks. We’d appreciate that.”
With that, he led us to his garage, where plenty of cars were parked. Andy perked up in my arms, looking around with wide eyes. I chuckled as I brushed his hair away from his eyes.
“Do you like it?” I asked.
He pouted for a moment before shaking his head, going back to hugging my neck.
Meanwhile, Evan went behind me so he could talk face–to–face with Andy.
“Come on, bub. Pick one,” he said, hoping Andy would budge. The young boy didn’t answer for a few seconds. However, his index finger slowly pointed in the direction of a red sports car.
A small smile made its way to Evan’s lips. He ruffled Andy’s hair and grabbed the car keys in his stash.
“Nice choice, bub,” he chuckled. “This is the most expensive one.”

I could feel Andy’s excitement through his body language, ut I could also tell he didn’t want to appear so happy because it was Evan’s. We entered the car, and the little boy looked around, taking it all in.
With that, Evan drove off, making sure to keep his speed normal despite the car being designed for racing. He glanced at us often, smiling when he saw Andy getting lulled to sleep. When I felt Andy’s soft breathing against my neck, I couldn’t help but chuckle.
“It’s his first time in such a car, but he’s sleeping.
Evan chuckled, too. “Well, it’s late, so it’s understandable. I’m going to take him on more rides from now on, so it’s alright.”
I gazed at the window and couldn’t help but smille. It didn’t take long before we finally arrived at our apartment. Evan parked the car while I undid the seatbelt.
Then, I was about to leave when Evan called my name.
I halted and turned to him, seeing the uneasy look on her face.
“Umm, where does this put us?” he asked.
My brows furrowed. “What do you mean?”
“Are we back to normal?”
I pursed my lips. “It’s not that easy, Evan.”
He let out a sigh.
“But,” I added. “I think this is a good start. For our family.
He couldn’t hide his smile. “And for our relationship?”
“Not so fast,” I cut him off. “You have to work harder than that.”
His eyes showed a determined glint, making me chuckle.
“Goodnight, Evan,” I finally said, opening the car door.
“Julia, wait,” he said once more. Then, he leaned closer, making my eyes go wide. For a second, I closed them when I felt him getting nearer and nearer. However, instead of feeling his lips against mine, I smelled his hair instead.
I opened my eyes and saw him kissing Andy’s cheek.
‘Goodnight, my son,” he muttered before pulling away.
Then, he looked at me, appearing confused.
“Why is your face so red?” he asked.
I cleared my throat. “It’s hot,” Imuttered. “We’ll get going now.”
With that, I finally stepped out of the car and shut the door close, walking to our apartment without sparing him a glance.

Rui placed his hand under his chin. “First, you should have accepted him before he even came out. Then, be present in all his events. Oh, and take care of him well from birth until now. Honestly, that would be the best way.”
I glared at him. “Obviously, I can’t bring back the past.
“Obviously,” Rui muttered. “You should have been more careful.”
I let out a deep breath, not wanting to retort because I knew he was telling the truth.
“If you want something more feasible, then I suggest you take him to the amusement park.
I straightened my back when I heard his suggestion. “Amusement park?” I muttered.
“Yup,” Rui said. “There’s going to be a fait on the weekends. I heard there would be rides. You should take your family there.”
I stood and patted Rui’s shoulder.
“You are useful, after all.”
“Oh, and could you buy some bleach,” I added.
Rui frowned. “Bleach for what? The bathroom?”
I shook my head. “For hair.”
